The role of Housekeeper at Elderwood at Liverpool is an essential position that contributes directly to the health and wellness of the community’s residents. Housekeeping team members ensure that all areas of the facility—including resident rooms, common spaces, and administrative offices—are kept clean and sanitary at all times. This role supports the overall mission of Elderwood by maintaining a safe, hygienic, and pleasant environment for residents and staff alike. Working as a Housekeeper at Elderwood involves performing a variety of cleaning duties in accordance with established safety and infection control protocols. This position requires keen attention to detail, a strong sense of responsibility, and the ability to collaborate effectively with coworkers and supervisors. Elderwood offers part-time opportunities with flexible shifts, including days, evenings, and weekends, to accommodate diverse scheduling needs. The hourly wage ranges from $15.60 to $18.25 depending on experience and shift differentials.

Job Requirements

  • Minimum 16 years of age
  • Ability to read, write, speak, and understand the English language at an intermediate or more advanced level
  • Ability to interact regularly with residents, coworkers, visitors, and/or supervisors
  • Must be excluded from usage of dangerous equipment such as compactors if under 18 years of age
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred

Job Qualifications

  • Minimum 16 years of age
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Custodial, janitorial, housekeeping and/or laundry experience preferred

Job Duties

  • Maintain cleanliness of general areas and assigned rooms of residents
  • Help move personal belongings of residents and clean and disinfect floor, furniture, bed and bathroom according to accepted procedures when a resident is discharged or transferred to another room
  • Follow safety rules, and where applicable, maintain vigilance concerning fire regulations and hazards as stated in procedures
  • Practice infection control principles in cleaning methods and personal hygiene
  • Keep cleaning compounds and hazardous substances stored properly for the protection of residents and staff
  • Collect and dispose of trash and other refuse in such a manner that prevents the transmission of disease and does not create a nuisance or fire hazard, nor a breeding place for insects and rodents
