As part of the larger VA Midwest Health Care Network, this institution is committed to delivering a Whole Health System of care that emphasizes personalized health planning, healing environments, and strong connections to the Veteran community. The Center honors America's Veterans by offering high-quality health services that improve their overall well-being, embracing a model that fosters empowerment and equips individuals to take charge of their health.

This position is situated within the Environmental Management Services department of the Minneapolis VA Health Care System. The role is primarily focused on performing janitorial and custodial services to maintain cleanliness and safety in patient and non-patient care areas throughout the facility. Responsibilities include textile distribution and inventory management, sanitizing and disinfecting environments, waste removal, cleaning of blinds and windows, and polishing floors among other tasks. This permanent, competitive service position offers a work schedule that accommodates both full-time and part-time employment, with shifts including morning, evening, overnight, and weekend options. The pay scale ranges from $20.78 to $24.23 per hour under the WG 2 pay grade, reflecting the value placed on maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for Veterans, staff, and visitors alike.

As an Environmental Services Technician, you will be a vital part of the healthcare support system, ensuring a hygienic and orderly atmosphere that supports the healing and wellness of Veterans. You will also be responsible for cleaning and restocking textile closets, managing soiled and clean linens, and occasionally providing guidance to Compensated Work Therapy workers.

Working in this role means contributing directly to the health and comfort of Veterans by maintaining high cleanliness standards in medical and administrative spaces. The position requires compliance with safety and health protocols, including the use of personal protective equipment to minimize exposure to contagious diseases and hazardous materials. This opportunity is not only a job but a chance to be part of a mission-driven organization focused on serving those who have served the nation. You will operate in an environment that values reliability, dependability, and a commitment to quality service, supported by a federal benefits package designed to support your career growth and personal well-being.
