Marina Housekeeping is a dedicated department within a Detroit area marina, focused on providing exceptional cleanliness and maintenance services for marina residents, guests, and visitors. The company operates as a prominent facility in the marine recreation and hospitality sector, offering seasonal and year-round services to ensure the upkeep of marina environments including boat docks, public spaces, and event areas. The role of Housekeeping Staff within the Marina Housekeeping Department is integral to maintaining these high standards of cleanliness and customer care. This position is designed for individuals motivated to work flexible hours, including part-time and full-time shifts, mainly spanning from 8am to 2am, with weekend availability a must. Successful candidates will work closely under the supervision of the General Manager but will not have any supervisory responsibilities themselves.
The housekeeping role involves a variety of cleaning and maintenance tasks such as sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, polishing furniture, cleaning restrooms and locker rooms, and maintaining outdoor areas like parking lots and boat docks. Housekeepers are also responsible for supporting special marina events, ensuring all facilities reflect the marina's commitment to quality and guest satisfaction. This position requires a hands-on approach with the ability to operate cleaning equipment safely and efficiently, maintain sanitation, and respond quickly to maintenance needs.
Importantly, this job offers a competitive hourly wage of $15 per hour, with work hours ranging approximately 15 to 37 hours per week. Employment type options include both part-time and full-time roles, providing candidates with flexibility in their schedules while meeting the marina’s operational demands. - housekeeping or janitorial experience of 1 year preferred
- ability to work flexible schedule including nights and weekends
- ability to stand, stoop, kneel and walk for extended periods
- ability to lift 50 lbs or more

Job Duties
- Sweep, scrub, mop and polish floors
- vacuum carpets, rugs, draperies
- shampoo carpets, rugs and upholstery
- dust and polish furniture and fittings
- clean metal fixtures and fittings
- tidy rooms and wipe down glass surfaces
- clean restrooms, pool area and locker rooms
- clean wash basins, mirrors, tubs and showers
- wash windows as scheduled
- empty and clean trash containers and dispose of trash in a sanitary manner
- clean boat docks, parking lots and marina public areas
- maintain all cleaning equipment and materials in a safe and sanitary working condition
- monitor and report necessary domestic repairs and replacements
- travel between Marinas via company provided vehicles
- provide support to banquet hall and outdoor events as assigned
- perform other duties as assigned
