We are currently looking for friendly and compassionate team players to join our housekeeping team at Corpus Christi Medical Center through our Environmental Services department. This role is crucial in ensuring a hygienic and safe environment for patients to recover and for staff to operate efficiently. The position offers both full-time and part-time schedules with shifts available during the day, evening, and night to accommodate various lifestyle needs. The hourly wage is competitively set at $12.50 per hour. Working as a housekeeper within this hospital environment requires attention to detail, adherence to stringent cleaning protocols per Health and Human Services (HHS) guidelines, and the ability to work well as part of a team. Housekeepers at Corpus Christi Medical Center will be expected to clean a variety of hospital settings, including patient rooms, common areas, restrooms, and additional designated spaces, with a focus on maintaining cleanliness and infection control standards. The successful candidate must demonstrate friendly and respectful service to patients, visitors, and coworkers, contributing to a welcoming hospital atmosphere. Job Requirements
- Must be at least 18 years old
- Communicate effectively in English
- Pass background check drug screen and provide proof of employment eligibility
- Practice good personal hygiene
- Be neatly groomed and wear uniform
- Be able to handle physical requirements of the job including standing walking squatting bending twisting kneeling reaching
- Be able to push and pull carts or equipment over 100 lb on tile and carpeted floors
- Be able to handle cleaning chemicals safely including bleach wax and disinfectants
- Be able to operate equipment necessary to perform essential job functions
Job Qualifications
- Must be at least 18 years old
- Communicate effectively in English and work well in a team environment
- Must practice good personal hygiene be neatly groomed and be in uniform
- Preferred housekeeping experience such as cleaning environmental services custodian janitorial room attendant floor care technician hotel operations healthcare
Job Duties
- Clean assigned areas of the hospital including patient rooms common areas restrooms and more
- Monitor and maintain the cleanliness of assigned areas
- Follow all HHS cleaning procedures and best practices
- Provide friendly and kind service to all individuals in the hospital
- Assist team members and management as needed to help the department operate efficiently
