Job Requirements
- Any combination of education and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities to perform the essential functions of the position
- must follow hospital policies and safety procedures
- ability to operate manual and powered cleaning equipment
- ability to wear prescribed protective gear
- ability to perform physical cleaning tasks including lifting and moving linens and waste
- adherence to hospital infection control standards and protocols

Job Duties
- Perform daily cleaning and linen delivery tasks as assigned following all hospital policies and procedures
- dust, clean, and disinfect vents, furniture, woodwork, bathroom fixtures, showers, whirlpools, and portable equipment
- wash and make beds
- clean and disinfect operating and delivery rooms
- wash ceilings and walls
- sweep and mop hallways, stairwells, and public areas
- clean sinks and toilets
- spot-clean, shampoo, and vacuum carpets
- operate manual, battery-powered, and electric cleaning equipment
- clean and maintain equipment such as cleaning cart and janitor's closet
- unload clean linen carts, deliver linen supplies, stock linens, and remove soiled linens as assigned
- order weekly cleaning supplies and chemicals for assigned areas
- wear prescribed protective gear appropriate to assignment
- observe and participate in hospital-required Safety, Risk Management, and Infection Control practices including hand washing and hand sanitizing protocols
- gather and dispose of garbage, waste, soiled linen, and infectious and regular trash in the prescribed manner
