Job Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent
Previous experience in cleaning or environmental services preferred
Ability to lift moderate weight and perform physical tasks
Willingness to wear personal protective equipment
Reliable attendance and punctuality
Ability to follow written and verbal instructions
Ability to work flexible shifts including weekends
Commitment to safety and infection control protocols

Job Qualifications

Any combination of education and experience providing required knowledge, skills and abilities to perform essential functions
Ability to follow established cleaning protocols and safety procedures
Experience with cleaning equipment and chemicals preferred
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining sanitary conditions
Good communication skills
Ability to adhere to infection control standards

Job Duties

Performs daily cleaning and linen delivery tasks as assigned, following all FHS policies and procedures
Cleaning tasks include dusting, cleaning and disinfecting vents, furniture, woodwork, bathroom fixtures, showers, whirlpools and portable equipment
washing and making beds
cleaning and disinfecting operating and delivery rooms
washing ceilings and walls
sweeping and mopping hallways, stairwells and public areas
cleaning sinks and toilets
spot-cleaning, shampooing and/or vacuuming carpets
Operates manual, battery-powered and electric cleaning equipment
Cleans and maintains equipment such as cleaning cart and janitor's closet
Unloads clean linen carts, delivers linen supplies, stocks linens and removes soiled linens as assigned
Orders weekly cleaning supplies and chemicals for assigned areas
Wears prescribed protective gear appropriate to assignment and follows hospital-required Safety, Risk Management, and Infection Control practices
Gathers and disposes of garbage, waste, soiled linen and infectious and regular trash in the prescribed manner
