Job Requirements

  • Minimum one year of housekeeping experience including knowledge of housekeeping and laundry standard operating procedures
  • High school diploma or equivalent education
  • Ability to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds regularly and up to 50 pounds occasionally
  • Ability to perform physical tasks including sitting, climbing or balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching or crawling
  • Specific vision abilities including close, distance, color, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus
  • Willingness to work indoors with hard and carpeted surfaces
  • Ability to stand for eight-hour shifts
  • Ability to work in exposure to extreme weather conditions such as cold and heat

Job Qualifications

  • Minimum one year of housekeeping experience with good knowledge of standard operating procedures and techniques
  • Any combination of education and experience equivalent to a high school diploma
  • Ability to perform physical tasks including lifting up to 50 pounds and standing for extended periods
  • Strong attention to detail and quality standards
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills
  • Ability to operate housekeeping equipment and maintain supply inventory
  • Ability to perform occasional physical activities such as climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling

Job Duties

  • Maintain guest room cleanliness including cleaning bathrooms and kitchen areas
  • Clean all floors by vacuuming or washing
  • Remove all trash from guest rooms
  • Dust and polish all guest room furnishings
  • Maintain outside room appearance by cleaning sliding doors, A/C grills, windows, and removing trash from surrounding outside areas
  • Ensure all hotel areas meet company standards regardless of assignment
  • Visually inspect guest rooms, public areas, and service areas for cleanliness and presentation
  • Notify supervisor immediately of any safety or security violations and guest concerns
  • Operate housekeeping equipment and restock housekeeping cart supplies
  • Notify head housekeeper or supervisor of room readiness
  • Maintain superior customer service when interacting with guests
