The role we're highlighting is for a Housekeeper who will play a vital part in maintaining the cleanliness, comfort, and safety of the community’s living and commercial spaces. This is a full-time position with working hours from 8:00am to 4:30pm, Monday through Friday, with additional shifts every third Saturday and some holidays. The Housekeeper’s role is essential in ensuring that all resident areas and common spaces are clean, orderly, and welcoming. The ideal candidate will be proactive in their duties, creative when needed, and dedicated to accomplishing the goals of the facility. Housekeepers at Friendship Village are responsible for daily cleaning tasks such as changing linens, restocking supplies, vacuuming, dusting, and responding promptly to any housekeeping concerns such as spills or broken glass. They also monitor and report on cleaning supplies inventory, manage laundry tasks including washing, drying, ironing, and sorting linens, and perform detailed deep cleans when required.
In addition to physical housekeeping tasks, the role requires strong communication skills to maintain positive relationships with residents and staff alike. It also involves reporting and managing lost and found items and any instances of property damage. Job Requirements
- High school diploma, G.E.D., or equivalent preferred but not required
- Experience in housekeeping in hotel preferred
- Ability to work with others
- Ability to read and write in English, perform basic arithmetic, understand measurements, and follow written and oral instructions in English

Job Duties
- Provide basic housekeeping duties including changing sheets, changing and arranging towels, restocking toilet supplies, vacuuming, dusting and rearranging the room after guests check-out
- Report and return any guest properties found in the rooms while rendering service
- Report cases of property damage in commercial spaces to supervisor
- Clean, disinfect and store all equipment at the end of the shift
- Maintain a positive relationship with employees and residents
- Monitor and report on the inventory of cleaning supplies
- Respond to calls for housekeeping problems such as spills and broken glass
- Collect and remove trash and debris
- Assist with laundry management including washing, drying, ironing and sorting linen
- Report, turn in and log all lost and found items
- Clean upholstered furniture
- Perform detailed deep cleans when required
