Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Prior housekeeping or hotel experience preferred
  • Ability to push, pull, bend, stoop and reach upwards
  • Ability to lift up to 40 pounds
  • Tolerance to exposure to extreme temperatures
  • Ability to stand and walk for prolonged periods
  • Willingness to work flexible hours
  • Must follow all policies and emergency procedures of the hotel
  • Must wear uniform and nametag
  • Must maintain personal cleanliness
  • Embrace the mission, values, and vision of the company

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Prior housekeeping or hotel experience preferred
  • Knowledge of operating laundry room dryers and washers desired but not required
  • Ability to handle guest complaints effectively
  • Good organizational skills
  • Teamwork and communication abilities
  • Physical capability to perform cleaning tasks including lifting up to 40 pounds
  • Ability to tolerate exposure to extreme temperatures and prolonged standing or walking

Job Duties

  • Have a good understanding of all of hotels operating procedures
  • Be knowledgeable of room types and standards for supplies
  • Check the general condition of the room and notify the Housekeeping Supervisor of any malfunction or damage
  • Clean and sanitize guest rooms, replenish supplies and amenities, inspect and report rooms ready for sale to the front desk all in accordance with hotel’s training and standards
  • Dust and clean all furnishings in guest rooms including the television, desk, desk chair, desk lamp/shade, air conditioner unit, headboards, nightstand, wall pictures, wall lamp/shade and window ledge
  • Maintain cleaning supplies and the cleaning cart in a safe, organized and presentable fashion
  • Ensure prompt and systematic servicing of all guest requests
  • Handle guest complaints effectively
  • Promote goodwill by being courteous, friendly and helpful to guests, managers and all other associates
  • Work as a team member
  • Be organized and thorough in preparing bedrooms within specified time while respecting internal hotel procedures
  • Ensure no service rooms must be approved by inspector or front desk
  • Must wear uniform and nametag
  • Follow all policies and emergency procedures of the hotel
  • Exercise discretion by not disturbing guests
  • Perform laundry and public area cleaning
  • Maintain personal cleanliness
  • Be willing to work flexible hours
  • Embrace the mission, values, and vision of the company
  • Perform deep cleaning when assigned
  • Other duties and responsibilities as may be designated
