Job Description

The hotel is currently seeking a dedicated full-time Housekeeper to join its Housekeeping Department. Starting at a competitive wage of $15.00 per hour, this role averages between 30 and 40 hours per week, providing a steady income and an opportunity to develop a career within the hospitality industry.

As a Housekeeper at the Hampton Inn and Suites Hilliard, you will play a vital role in ensuring guests enjoy a clean, comfortable, and pleasant environment during their stay. You will be responsible for a variety of cleaning and maintenance duties that adhere to the hotel's stringent standards and operating procedures. This includes cleaning and sanitizing guest rooms, replenishing supplies, and inspecting rooms for any damages or malfunctions to maintain a high quality of service. You will also be expected to work collaboratively as part of a team while demonstrating excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.

The role requires physical stamina and the ability to manage multiple tasks, including dusting and cleaning all furnishings, maintaining the cleanliness of common areas, and handling guest requests promptly and courteously. Discretion and respect for guests' privacy are paramount, and the ability to handle guest complaints with professionalism is essential.

Job Requirements

  • Minimum high school education
  • Prior housekeeping or hotel experience preferred
  • Ability to push, pull, bend, stoop and reach upwards
  • Ability to lift up to 40lbs
  • Tolerance to exposure to extreme temperatures
  • Ability to tolerate prolonged periods of standing and walking
  • Willingness to work flexible hours
  • Must follow all hotel policies and emergency procedures
  • Must wear uniform and nametag
  • Must maintain personal cleanliness.

Job Qualifications

  • Minimum high school education
  • Prior housekeeping or hotel experience preferred
  • Prior knowledge of operating laundry room dryers and washers desired but not required
  • Ability to push, pull, bend, stoop and reach upwards
  • Ability to lift up to 40lbs
  • Tolerance to exposure to extreme temperatures
  • Ability to tolerate prolonged periods of standing and walking
  • Willingness to work flexible hours
  • Strong teamwork and communication skills
  • Commitment to maintaining hotel standards and guest satisfaction.

Job Duties

  • Have a good understanding of all of hotels operating procedures
  • Be knowledgeable of rooms types and standards for supplies
  • Check the general condition of the room and notify the Housekeeping Supervisor of any malfunction or damage
  • Clean and sanitize guest rooms, replenish supplies and amenities, inspect and report rooms ready for sale to the front desk all in accordance with hotel’s training and standards
  • Dust and clean all furnishings in guest room including the television, desk, desk chair, desk lamp/shade, air conditioner unit, head boards, night stand, wall picture, wall lamp/shade and window ledge
  • Maintain cleaning supplies and the cleaning cart in safe, organized and presentable fashion
  • Ensure prompt and systematic servicing of all guest requests
  • Handle guest complaints effectively
  • Promote goodwill by being courteous, friendly and helpful to guests, managers and all other associates
  • Team work
  • Organization and thoroughness: preparing bedrooms in the specified length of time whilst respecting internal hotel procedures
  • No service rooms must be approved by inspector or front desk
  • Must wear uniform and nametag
  • Must follow all policies and emergency procedures of the hotel
  • Discretion: not disturbing guests
  • Laundry and public area cleaning.
  • Must maintain personal cleanliness
  • Willing to work flexible hours
  • Must embrace the Mission, Values, and Vision of the company
  • Deep clean when assigned
  • Other Duties and Responsibilities as may be designated.
