Job Description
The hiring establishment is a nursing home facility dedicated to providing comprehensive care and support to its residents, ensuring their comfort, dignity, and overall quality of life. Nursing homes like this one play a crucial role in the healthcare continuum by delivering residential care services that cater primarily to elderly individuals or those with chronic medical conditions who require long-term assistance with daily living activities. This particular facility emphasizes maintaining a clean, sanitary, and odor-free environment as a critical component of resident well-being. The foundation of exceptional resident care lies not only in medical and therapeutic services but also in the everyday environment, which directly influences comfort and health. Cleanliness, prompt laundry services, and attention to detail are therefore essential aspects of operations.
The role offered is that of a Laundry / Housekeeping Aide, a vital position within the nursing home setting that blends housekeeping expertise with laundry services. This full-time position offers an hourly wage range from $17.48 to $19.00 depending on experience, reflecting the importance of the role in supporting resident care. The Laundry / Housekeeping Aide is responsible for ensuring an adequate supply of clean linens and clothing items are always available to residents, helping to maintain their dignity and satisfaction. This work requires diligence in handling laundry operations—sorting, washing, drying, folding, and delivering linens and clothing with attention to hygiene and infection control standards critical in healthcare environments. Beyond laundry duties, the aide also supports housekeeping efforts by maintaining the cleanliness and sanitary condition of the facility to prevent odors and promote a healthy living space.
In addition to routine laundry work, the position includes tasks such as labeling new resident clothing to reduce loss and mix-ups, checking linens for wear or damage, and reporting any maintenance issues related to laundry equipment. The aide works collaboratively with facility leadership to manage laundry supply inventories and ensure smooth operations at all times. While this position does not include supervisory responsibilities, it demands reliability, attention to detail, work ethic, and physical stamina due to regular lifting duties and use of industrial laundry machinery.
Overall, this career opportunity offers a meaningful role within a healthcare environment dedicated to improving the lives of residents through effective support services. It is suitable for individuals seeking a steady position that combines physical tasks with a direct impact on resident comfort and safety. The nursing home provides a supportive work environment with moderate noise levels and places a strong emphasis on equal employment opportunity and employee well-being. Prospective candidates looking for a fulfilling role within long-term care are encouraged to consider this opportunity to contribute significantly to resident satisfaction and facility operations.
