We are currently inviting applications for the position of Housekeeper/Laundry Aide on a part-time basis. This role is critical within our environmental services team as it ensures the cleanliness and hygiene of the facility, contributing significantly to the overall health and safety of our residents and staff. The Housekeeper/Laundry Aide will be responsible for a variety of housekeeping and laundry duties designed to maintain a safe and comfortable environment. Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED preferred
  • ability to lift, push, pull, and move equipment, supplies over 50 lbs
  • ability to walk, bend, lift, and stand for long periods
  • good communication skills in English
  • knowledge of safe housekeeping practices
  • team player mentality

Job Qualifications

  • Housekeeper must have a thorough understanding of the principles of safe effective housekeeping practices within the State of employment
  • have the ability to be a team player to partner with other departments
  • a high school diploma or GED is preferred but not required
  • the ability to read, write, speak and understand the English language
  • must be able to lift, push, pull and move equipment, supplies, etc. in excess of 50 lbs
  • must be able to do constant walking, bending, lifting and standing for long periods during a scheduled shift

Job Duties

  • Maintain cleaning schedules for assigned area
  • coordinating routine/terminal isolation procedures with Nursing Services
  • maintain knowledge of safety regulations, policies and procedures and follow established safety procedures and precautions
  • report all unsafe/hazardous conditions, defective equipment, etc. to supervisor immediately
  • honor the residents' personal and property rights
  • file complaints/grievances with supervisor in a timely fashion
  • follow established policies/procedures of laundry tasks
  • use proper protocols for picking up soiled linens, including isolation linens, and transporting them to the laundry department
  • use proper protective clothing/equipment while performing laundry duties
  • maintain all cleaning schedules for each assigned area and follow laundry department schedules
  • maintain the confidentiality of all residents and their care to ensure residents rights, privacy and property are protected at all times
  • report and document resident and/or visitor incidents, accidents, complaints or allegations according to the facility's policy and procedure using the designated occurrence reporting systems
