Job Requirements
- Minimum one-year previous housekeeping/janitorial experience preferred
- Strong customer service skills (courteous, friendly, etc)
- Ability to identify and solve problems in a calm, logical manner
- Ability to multitask, prioritize and manage time effectively
- Ability to work under pressure
- Ability to adapt and respond to a diversity of individuals
- Experience in one or more of the following is a plus: sexual assault or domestic violence programs
- Must be able to read, write and speak English
- Bi-lingual capabilities a plus
- If a driver’s license is required for this position, a valid driver’s license and dependable transportation are required
- Vehicle insurance must be maintained
- Must meet eligibility requirements for Hubbard House, Inc. vehicle insurance coverage
- Must successfully clear background screening including level-2 background screening (criminal background check through DCF, FDLE, and the National Sex Offender Registry), motor vehicle report, drug, alcohol, and TB screening
- Must be able to produce proof of eligibility to work in the United States (E-Verify)

Job Duties
- Responsible for cleaning all spaces as assigned in Hubbard House facilities
- Responsible for cleaning communal living spaces of the emergency shelter facilities including hallways, restrooms, living rooms, and kitchens
- As assigned, responsible for cleaning resident bedrooms
- Vacuum rugs, carpets, and upholstered furniture in emergency shelter
- Empty wastebaskets and transport trash for disposal at emergency shelter property
- Sweep and mop tile floors
- Dust furniture and equipment
- Clean office/administration areas as scheduled, including mopping, vacuuming, dusting and emptying trash
- As assigned, research and purchase needed supplies with supervisor approval
- As assigned, perform light maintenance tasks to include, but not limited to, changing bulbs, A/C filters, etc
- As assigned, maintain inventory of maintenance supplies and submit order requests with authorized vendors in keeping with Agency policy
- As assigned, network with vendors, repair technicians, and service providers and accompany those vendors when providing services to the facility
- Ensure proper maintenance of facility grounds and landscape as assigned
- Clean all public restrooms in the facility as scheduled
- Clean elevator and stairwells as scheduled
- As assigned, wash, wax, and buff all tile floors (ceramic tile floors should not be waxed and buffed) in all lobbies, hallways, and common areas as scheduled
- To ensure the security and safety of the shelter residents, the position must always maintain a liability/shelter safety focus
- Other responsibilities as assigned by supervisor
