Job Requirements

Less than high school education
Less than one year experience in housekeeping
Ability to work varied days and hours
Compliance with safety and infection control protocols
Physical ability to perform manual cleaning duties
Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Job Qualifications

Ability to follow established policies and procedures
Understanding of safety and infection control standards
Capability to operate housekeeping equipment
Good physical stamina for cleaning tasks
Willingness to participate in training and educational sessions

Job Duties

Maintains established departmental policies and procedures, objectives, quality assurance program, safety, environmental, and infection control standards
Dusts furniture, woodwork, equipment
Mops floors
Polishes and cleans fixtures in all areas as needed
Wet mops rooms, halls, stairways, and public areas
Operates housekeeping mechanical equipment
Moves furniture pertaining to cleaning procedures
Buffs, strips, waxes and polishes floors
Removes waste and soiled linens from work area according to proper procedure
Performs cleaning procedures of patient rooms and prepares room for next occupant
Follows isolation procedures in isolation rooms
Participates in educational programs and in-service meetings
