Job Description
Newport Healthcare is a renowned provider in the mental health care sector, dedicated to improving the lives of individuals through comprehensive and compassionate treatment programs. With a broad network that includes residential and outpatient services across the nation, as well as specialized inpatient hospitalization and clinic care via the PrairieCare division in Minnesota, Newport Healthcare ensures a continuum of care to meet diverse client needs. The organization prides itself on fostering a supportive, collaborative environment where every team member, from clinicians to support staff, contributes meaningfully to the healing journey of those they serve. Known for valuing diversity, inclusion, and equal opportunity, Newport Healthcare is deeply committed to creating a safe and respectful workplace for all employees regardless of race, gender, or background. They maintain a strong focus on professional growth, offering staff the resources and opportunities necessary for ongoing development and success within the mental health care field.
The Housekeeper position at Newport Healthcare plays a vital role in maintaining the cleanliness, safety, and inviting atmosphere essential to the therapeutic and support environment of the organization. As a Housekeeper, you will be recognized as the 'superhero of cleanliness,' responsible for ensuring all assigned areas meet stringent hygiene and safety standards. This role requires a highly detail-oriented and motivated individual who is passionate about keeping their working environment spotless and well-maintained, thus directly supporting the organization’s mission of delivering exceptional care.
In this per diem role, compensated between $20 and $22 per hour depending on experience and education, the Housekeeper will undertake a variety of important daily tasks. These include cleaning and disinfecting surfaces such as furniture, floors, windows, and decor with appropriate cleaning agents; managing safety protocols like placing proper signage and ensuring compliance with Safety Data Sheets (SDS); emptying trash bins; and performing deep cleaning duties to maintain a spotless environment. The Housekeeper also assists with inventory by restocking custodial and office supplies, inspects facilities for damages or repair needs, and performs basic maintenance of cleaning equipment to ensure functionality. Additional responsibilities include preparing rooms for new client admissions and discharges, laundering linens to provide fresh bedding, and promptly addressing custodial emergencies like spills or broken glass with professionalism and care.
Newport Healthcare emphasizes a culture of safety, responsiveness, and thoroughness, making this role critical to their operational excellence. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to contribute significantly to the comfort and wellness of clients and staff alike, making a day-to-day impact through their dedication and work ethic. This role is perfect for someone who thrives in dynamic work settings, is proactive in identifying and solving issues, and takes pride in supporting mental health care through environmental excellence. Newport Healthcare also provides robust support for applicants with disabilities, ensuring equitable hiring practices and reasonable accommodations throughout the recruitment process. This role offers a chance to be part of a respected healthcare network, delivering meaningful contributions that resonate far beyond housekeeping duties.
