The housekeeping position at Cogir Senior Living plays a critical role in maintaining a clean, safe, and comfortable environment for residents, staff, and visitors alike. Housekeepers in this role are tasked with performing various cleaning duties to uphold high standards of sanitation and hygiene that directly contribute to the overall well-being of the senior residents. The job involves cleaning resident rooms, common areas, dining halls, administrative offices, and bathrooms according to established schedules and community protocols. Job Requirements

  • at least one year housekeeping experience in a senior living, healthcare, or hospitality setting
  • strong attention to detail

  • knowledge of cleaning chemicals and equipment
  • ability to maintain confidentiality and follow ethical standards

Job Qualifications

  • a high school diploma or equivalent
  • at least one year of housekeeping experience in a senior living, healthcare, or hospitality setting
  • strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining cleanliness
  • good time management and organizational skills
  • friendly and professional demeanor
  • knowledge of cleaning chemicals and their uses as well as cleaning equipment is a plus
  • ability to maintain confidentiality and adhere to ethical standards

Job Duties

  • perform routine cleaning of resident rooms, common areas, dining spaces, and administrative offices including dusting, vacuuming, mopping, and sanitizing surfaces
  • clean and disinfect bathrooms including sinks, toilets, showers, and mirrors
  • empty trash and recycling bins and replace liners
  • launder and replace linens, towels, and other textiles as needed
  • follow the community cleaning schedule and protocol according to community guidelines and established safety precautions
  • build positive relationships with residents by engaging in friendly, respectful interactions
  • respect residents’ privacy and preferences while cleaning their living spaces
  • report any maintenance issues, safety concerns, or resident needs changes to the supervisor
  • use cleaning equipment and chemicals safely and according to instructions
  • follow infection control and sanitation protocols including the proper handling and disposal of waste
