The position of Housekeeper at The Sheraton in Nashua is a full-time role focused on maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness and hygiene throughout the facility. This role is essential in upholding the hotel’s reputation for excellence and enhancing the guest experience by ensuring that all public areas, guest rooms, restrooms, and meeting spaces are immaculately clean and sanitized. Housekeepers are responsible for detailed cleaning tasks, replenishing supplies, and performing routine inspections of assigned areas to meet housekeeping standards. Interaction with guests may occur occasionally, where the Housekeeper must provide courteous assistance and promptly report any maintenance issues to supervisors to ensure swift resolution. The shift covers an 8-hour workday, with mandatory availability on weekends, reinforcing the commitment to consistently outstanding service during peak hotel hours.

Job Requirements

  • Must be 18 years of age or older
  • limited to no experience required
  • previous commercial cleaning or guest service experience preferred
  • able to work 8:30 am-4:30 pm
  • working Friday-Sunday is mandatory
  • working knowledge of various cleaning utensils, dryers, vacuum cleaners, tools, and fixtures
  • ability to work quickly under pressure and follow instructions
  • ability to make simple addition and subtraction calculations
  • no high school diploma or GED required

Job Duties

  • Thoroughly clean and sanitize public areas, rooms, and restrooms
  • empty wastebaskets and transport trash to the disposal area
  • replenish supplies
  • conduct a walk-around of assigned areas to ensure the facility meets housekeeping standards
  • ensure all linen rooms and work areas are neat, clean, and organized
  • interact with and assist guests on occasion while cleaning guest and meeting rooms
  • report maintenance and repair problems to the supervisor
  • ensure all lost and found items are turned in and logged daily
