Job Requirements

Appropriate training and/or background in a similar setting
Must be able to properly clean residents' rooms and residence common areas including vacuuming, sweeping, dusting, polishing, mopping, disinfecting
Must be able to discard waste into proper containers and assist with general housekeeping duties
Must lift a minimum of twenty-five pounds and carry objects
Must push and pull carts and walk, sit and stand continuously
Must turn, crouch, kneel, stoop, bend below waist and reach above shoulder height
Must use cleaning equipment safely such as mops, brooms, vacuum cleaners, buffers and chemicals
Must perform routine, repetitive tasks with consideration for residents, visitors and co-workers
Must project a positive attitude
Must be able to attend in-service training and orientations

Job Qualifications

The ability to maintain a clean and neat environment
Knowledge of cleaning practices and substances
The ability to identify cleaning needs and safety hazards
Ability to communicate in English both orally and in writing
Frequent lifting, bending, stretching, kneeling and standing for extended periods of time
High school diploma or GED preferred
Previous housekeeping experience in health care or hospitality setting preferred
No certificates or licenses required

Job Duties

Promote the mission and core values of the Residence and LCB Senior Living to residents, visitors, co-workers and the surrounding community
Have an active role in growing community occupancy by representing and interacting positively with potential residents, family members and professionals
Thoroughly clean bathrooms including toilets, vanities, sinks, showers, shower seats and floors with cleaning solution
Clean kitchen areas completely by wiping counters and under objects and mopping kitchen floors
Empty wastebaskets and replace bags
Dust and polish all surfaces
Wipe off all surfaces including windowsills, woodwork and counters
Clean carpets including vacuuming, shampooing, deodorizing and disinfecting
Clean all common areas and common bathrooms daily and as needed
Maintain housekeeping carts in a clean, orderly manner
Attend required in-service training and orientations
Remove, fold and return bed linens
Wash and fold linens
Fill other positions as needed when someone is out
Clean and wash windows
Clean and dust blinds
Perform general pick-up outside as needed
Perform other duties as requested
