Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- prior housekeeping or maintenance experience preferred
- ability to operate floor-care equipment safely
- basic knowledge of cleaning chemicals and safety procedures
- good communication skills in English
- ability to follow instructions and work under supervision
- physical ability to perform manual cleaning tasks
- availability to work the 7:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. shift
Job Qualifications
- Experience in institutional housekeeping or maintenance is helpful
- experience in the use of floor-care equipment is helpful
- ability to read, write, and speak the English language
Job Duties
- Cleans and sanitizes patient rooms, bathrooms, and common areas on a daily basis in accordance with facility protocols
- uses proper chemicals in correct portions for cleaning tasks
- dustmops, wet mops, or spot-mops floors as needed
- empties trash containers, replaces liners appropriately, and disposes of trash in proper receptacles
- vacuums carpets as directed by supervisor
- washes and dries windows using proper chemicals and equipment
- reports repair needs to supervisor or maintenance department
- requests needed supplies and equipment from supervisor
- identifies and corrects safety hazards and abides by safety rules
- attends weekly in-services and complies with patient care management systems
- ensures patient and resident safety
- performs other duties and tasks as assigned
