Job Requirements
- must have high school diploma or equivalent
- prior housekeeping experience preferred
- ability to follow government and state health and safety policy regulations
- ability to perform job duties in compliance with company policy and state licensing regulations
- must adhere to confidentiality policy regarding residents and employees
- familiarity with Standard Precautions, Exposure Control Plan, Fire Drill and Evacuation Procedures
- observant of safety hazards and ability to report them
- ability to work on feet and stand for extended periods
- ability to exert up to 50 pounds of force occasionally
- must have clear and color vision and the ability to adjust focus
- ability to reach with arms to support residents
- must meet general health requirements including medical and physical exams
- ability to assist in resident evacuation and exchange accurate information
- ability to hear and react to alarms and emergency phone rings
- must pass physical, TB test, background check, drug test and maintain immunizations
- ability to work rotating shifts and flexible scheduling including weekends and holidays
Job Qualifications
- high school diploma or equivalent
- prior commercial or residential care housekeeping experience preferred
- proficient in written and verbal English
- ability to establish long-term relationships
- compassion for and desire to work with the older adult population
- high level of customer service, hospitality, curiosity and friendliness
- ability to communicate effectively in writing and orally
- ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
- ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide
- ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions
- ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form
- basic personal computer skills
- ability to learn, understand, and adapt to new technology
Job Duties
- daily surface cleaning of all areas to ensure cleanliness and safety
- thoroughly clean each resident suite weekly and on an as-needed basis
- change linens on residents' beds
- clean and disinfect bathrooms
- wash mirrors
- sweep and mop floors
- empty trash cans and clean air vents
- dust all surfaces
- keep housekeeping carts clean and organized
- assist with cleaning and refurbishing of vacated residences
- perform cleaning tasks for offices, bathrooms, and other areas as directed
- attend mandatory monthly in-service and safety meetings
- perform other duties as requested by the Executive Director or Supervisor
