The role of a Housekeeper at Distinctive Living is an essential position responsible for maintaining cleanliness and hygiene standards throughout the Twinbrook Assisted Living Community. As a Housekeeper, the successful candidate will visit assigned residences for routine cleaning tasks like dusting, vacuuming, changing bed linens, and thoroughly cleaning bathroom fixtures to high standards—all while respecting residents’ privacy and belongings. The job also involves managing linen inventory to support weekly schedule needs and facilitating an additional frequency of linen changes if requested by residents. The Housekeeper is entrusted with the upkeep of common areas, such as entryways, corridors, activity rooms, and dining areas, ensuring these spaces remain neat and inviting for residents and visitors alike. Responsibilities include floor cleaning methods such as sweeping, mopping, waxing, and buffing, alongside carpet vacuuming and shampooing. Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum one year of housekeeping or cleaning experience
  • Strong communication skills
  • Ability to respect residents’ privacy and handle cleaning equipment safely
  • Willingness to adhere to health and safety regulations
  • Ability to work full-time
  • Dependability and attention to detail

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • One year of experience in a cleaning or housekeeping role
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to communicate verbally in person and over the phone
  • Knowledge of safety and cleanliness procedures

Job Duties

  • Visit assigned residences to perform basic apartment cleaning including dusting, vacuuming, sheet and linen changing, bed making, and bathroom cleaning
  • Change residents' bedding and linens weekly and manage linen inventory
  • Interact with residents in a friendly manner and communicate health concerns to management
  • Maintain cleanliness in all common areas such as entryways, corridors, activity rooms, and dining rooms
  • Clean floors with sweeping, mopping, waxing, buffing, disinfecting, and handle caution/safety signs accordingly
  • Clean carpets by vacuuming, shampooing, deodorizing, and disinfecting
  • Clean public restrooms and remove dirt, grease, and marks from surfaces using proper solutions
