Job Description

The housekeeping department of this hospitality establishment is committed to providing exceptional cleanliness and guest satisfaction in all guestroom areas. This company, operating within the hotel and lodging industry, upholds brand standards and quality benchmarks ensuring every guestroom is maintained with the highest attention to detail. As a full-time Housekeeper, Room Attendant, or Suite Attendant, you play a vital role in creating a welcoming and spotless environment for guests, directly impacting their overall experience and impression of the facility.

The primary job function involves cleaning and maintaining guestrooms thoroughly in compliance with brand specifications. This includes inventory management of guestroom items, reporting lost and found goods, and alerting management to any damaged or missing items. Working under the direction of the Housekeeping Manager and Housekeeping Supervisor, you will be responsible for communicating room statuses accurately and promptly. The role demands adherence to safety protocols, proper handling of authorized cleaning agents, and following strict key control procedures to ensure secure and effective operations.

Your duties extend beyond cleaning; a positive work attitude and effective communication skills are essential to foster a collaborative work environment with guests, co-workers, and management. Carrying out additional responsibilities may include restocking housekeeping carts, assisting guests with inquiries, adhering to dress codes, and following hotel emergency procedures. This role necessitates flexibility, as work hours may include evenings, weekends, and holidays. No formal education is required, although knowledge of cleaning agents, equipment operation, and safety practices is critical.

Equally important is the physical stamina needed for this role. Housekeepers must be capable of lifting up to 25 pounds, climbing stairs, stooping, kneeling, and enduring exposure to environmental elements such as moving mechanical parts, weather conditions, fumes, and loud noise. To ensure inclusivity, reasonable accommodations in line with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) will be provided.

This position is classified as non-exempt under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA), offering hourly wages with eligibility for benefits including 401(k), dental insurance, health insurance, holidays, sick leave, and vacation. The company values continuous improvement and periodic review of the job description to align duties with evolving business needs. Joining this team means becoming part of a supportive organization dedicated to both employee welfare and guest satisfaction, offering a dynamic environment where every day presents new challenges and opportunities to excel in hospitality housekeeping.
