Job Requirements
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
- or one year related experience and/or training
- or equivalent combination of education and experience
- ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos
- ability to write simple correspondence
- ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization
- ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions
- ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations
- ability to stand, walk, use hands, reach with hands and arms, and talk or hear regularly
- frequently required to stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl and taste or smell
- occasionally required to climb or balance
- must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
- must occasionally be exposed to bloodborne pathogens
- ability to work 20 hours weekly on Monday, Wednesday, Friday shifts

Job Duties
- Follows established cleaning schedule
- completes daily dusting, vacuuming, sweeping and mopping of all common areas
- follows established schedule for deep cleaning of resident rooms
- cleans administrative offices as scheduled
- cleans and sanitizes bathrooms
- cleans carpets and mops all floors upon request
- maintains a clean, safe, and orderly environment for all residents
- ensures and supports a dignified and caring atmosphere for residents, families, visitors, and associates
- responds promptly and courteously to resident's, families, and visitors requests for assistance
- speaks to/interacts with residents showing empathy, kindness, compassion, and respect
- communicates effectively in a language that each resident is capable of understanding
- maintains a safe and secure working environment free of objects/situations that could cause harm and/or falls to residents, families visitors and associates
- practices good body mechanics and safe working habits
- observes and reports safety hazards immediately to supervisor
- provides assistance to associates when requested or required
- knows, understands and follows established policy and procedures in emergency situations
- is considered essential personnel during emergencies and/or inclement weather
- works as a team player with other associates and management in accomplishing work assignments
- always demonstrates a positive and respectful attitude about work issues, policies and procedures
- complies with attendance and call off policy
- attends and/or participates in trainings, in-service and mandatory meetings
- wears clean and appropriate dress per established dress code policy
- refrains from discussing resident issues with families and visitors and refers all inquiries to immediate nursing supervisor
- knows, understands, and complies with HIPAA regulations
- provides "hands-on" assistance when requested or needed by nursing staff while working in the community
- participates in leisure activities provided to residents as described in the activity calendar
- serves and assist residents in the dining room at breakfast, lunch and dinner daily
- takes on special projects or assignments outside of regular duties willingly
- performs all other reasonable duties as assigned or as requested
