The Housekeeper position at MBK Senior Living is a part-time role focused on maintaining cleanliness and hygiene standards across resident apartments, public areas, and workspaces within the community. This role is vital to ensuring a safe, welcoming, and comfortable environment for seniors residing in the facility. The housekeeper will perform comprehensive cleaning duties that include dusting, mopping, vacuuming, disinfecting, and waste disposal, maintaining all areas to the highest standards aligned with MBK’s values and care philosophy. Reporting relationships may include direction from the Executive Director, Director of Environmental Services, or Director of Housekeeping.

The schedule for this role is flexible, with specific shifts on Sundays from 7:00 am to 3:00 pm. Compensation ranges from $19.00 to $20.00 per hour, depending on experience. Job Requirements

  • Age 18 or older or have proper work permit
  • background clearances as required by government
  • complete health screening and provide negative TB test results
  • able to stand for long periods and perform physical tasks such as bending, kneeling, pushing, and pulling
  • able to lift up to 40 pounds
  • mobile and physically capable of housekeeping duties
  • ability to interact respectfully with residents and coworkers

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED
  • ability to read, write, and speak English
  • ability to follow oral and written directions
  • effective interpersonal skills with people of different ages and backgrounds
  • prior housekeeping experience preferred but not required
  • willingness to learn and demonstrate positive attitude
  • ability to use standard cleaning equipment
  • knowledge of safety procedures when handling chemicals
  • familiarity with cleaning schedules and protocols

Job Duties

  • Clean resident apartments, common areas, and offices including furnishings, fixtures, and bathroom fixtures
  • set up and remove appropriate caution/safety signs
  • report health, safety, and sanitation concerns
  • follow cleaning schedules
  • monitor and remove trash and waste
  • keep work areas free of hazards and organize equipment
  • use safety and protective equipment when handling hazardous materials
  • follow policies for use and disposal of chemicals and cleaning solutions
  • lock and control housekeeping supplies and hazardous materials
  • comply with labeling and Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS) policies
  • represent the community positively through professional demeanor and dress
  • encourage teamwork and open communication
  • display tact and friendliness with residents, families, and guests
  • perform additional duties as assigned by management
