The facility maintains a compassionate setting where residents can feel secure and attended to, supported by a team of professionals who understand the unique needs of long-term care populations. As part of their commitment to offering exceptional care, maintaining cleanliness and hygiene across all areas of the facility is vital to prevent infection, promote health, and enhance the overall living experience.

The role of Housekeeper at this long-term care facility is an essential position focused on ensuring all public and private spaces are kept tidy, safe, and free of hazards. The Housekeeper’s primary mission is to uphold an environment that is not only clean but also welcoming and free of odors, ensuring residents and visitors alike have a positive impression of the facility at all times. Time management is critical to complete duties efficiently and maintain continuous cleanliness. While this role does not have supervisory responsibilities, the Housekeeper must be able to work both independently and collaboratively as part of the broader care team. The position requires diligent attention to detail and the ability to report safety concerns promptly to appropriate supervisory personnel, such as the Director of Housekeeping or Director of Nursing, thereby contributing to a safe living environment.

Candidates applying for this position should have a minimum educational attainment of a high school diploma or GED, with prior experience in a long-term care facility preferred though not mandatory. The role demands physical capability to carry out tasks, including lifting and moving objects occasionally up to 25 pounds, and the stamina to regularly perform activities such as standing, walking, kneeling, and bending. Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, are required to comprehend instructions and safety guidelines correctly. Basic mathematical abilities are also necessary for handling supplies and inventory tasks efficiently.

This employment opportunity offers a meaningful career path for individuals passionate about contributing to the health and comfort of long-term care residents by maintaining a high standard of cleanliness and order. The work environment is typically low to moderate in noise and smell levels, providing a manageable setting for employees to perform their essential duties. The facility allows reasonable accommodations for employees with disabilities to ensure all team members can successfully fulfill their job responsibilities. Overall, this Housekeeper role is vital in sustaining the quality of life for residents and supporting the facility’s mission to provide compassionate, dependable care.
