The housekeeper position at Spark Pediatrics/Joycare plays a vital role in maintaining this healing environment. The housekeeper is responsible for ensuring that the facility is clean, safe, and orderly at all times, from classrooms and play areas to restrooms and common spaces. By performing janitorial duties such as vacuuming, mopping, dusting, cleaning windows, and emptying trash, the housekeeper contributes significantly to the overall experience of patients, families, and staff. Beyond routine cleaning, the role demands a strong commitment to safety, as the housekeeper must use cleaning equipment and chemicals responsibly and in line with prescribed guidelines.
Working in a dynamic and sometimes fast-paced medical daycare setting, the housekeeper is expected to maintain professionalism and calm under pressure, adapting to a busy environment with moderate noise and continuous activity. This role is more than just janitorial work; it is about fostering an environment conducive to care and recovery for children with special medical needs. Job Requirements
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Previous experience as a housekeeper, cleaner, or in a similar role is preferred but not required
- Ability to use cleaning equipment, chemicals, and supplies safely and effectively
- Strong communication skills to interact with others as needed
- Reliable and punctual, with a strong work ethic and a willingness to follow cleaning protocols
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Previous experience as a housekeeper, cleaner, or in a similar role is preferred but not required
- Attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining a clean and organized environment
- Ability to use cleaning equipment, chemicals, and supplies safely and effectively

- Housekeeping or hospitality certification is a plus
Job Duties
- Operate cleaning equipment and use designated chemicals and other approved cleaning products safely and in accordance with instructions
- Works to keep the building, classrooms and playground in a clean, safe and orderly condition
- Completes janitorial tasks such as vacuuming, mopping, dusting, cleaning windows and restrooms
- Assist in cleaning school equipment, furniture, fixtures, and walls
- Gathers and empties trash
- Clean restrooms and refill dispensers
