Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Experience in housekeeping in health care or hospitality service preferred
- Ability to perform strenuous physical work including heavy lifting, pushing or pulling up to 100 pounds occasionally and up to 50 pounds frequently
- Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks
- Must understand cleaning solution and equipment safety
- Must have interpersonal skills for communication with residents, families, staff and visitors
- Compassion and respect for elderly residents
- Must follow infection control and safety procedures
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Experience in housekeeping in health care or hospitality service preferred
- Knowledge of housekeeping procedures and practices
- Ability to work independently and prioritize workload
- Ability to read and understand cleaning solutions and equipment directions
- Knowledge of MSDS sheets and hazardous materials guidelines
- Compassionate with the elderly
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Demonstrates a servant heart and positive attitude
Job Duties
- Clean and sanitize residents apartments and common areas by removing trash, dusting, mopping, vacuuming, scrubbing baths and toilets, headboard and footboard care, and cleaning glass following community policies and procedures
- Replace and restock toilet tissue, paper towels and facial tissue
- Deep clean apartments and common areas as assigned following community policies and procedures
- Shampoo carpets and furniture, wash windows and screens as assigned
- Respond to residents cleaning needs in a positive, timely and respectful manner
- Prepare apartments for move-in ensuring they are clean and welcoming by following checklists
- Clean up after accidents in a timely, efficient manner while maintaining the dignity of the resident
- Maintain equipment and supplies in clean, working order
- Report safety concerns, needed repairs or problem areas to the Director immediately
- Follow all infection control and safety procedures associated with job duties
- Maintain cleaning cart orderly and stocked appropriately
- Maintain confidentiality of residents personal information and support residents rights
- Maintain a professional appearance and demeanor that encourages a positive nurturing environment
- Maintain a positive customer service environment
- Inform supervisor of low supplies for timely replenishment
- Ensure adequate coverage for meal service, assist with meal orders, drink refills, dining room cleaning and resetting
- Perform other duties as assigned or required
