The position of Maintenance Technician at Courtyard by Marriott involves performing scheduled preventative maintenance across guest rooms, meeting rooms, and public spaces to ensure the highest standards of cleanliness, functionality, and safety. This role is integral to maintaining the quality and appearance of rooms by inspecting and repairing mattresses, box springs, bed frames, upholstery, and carpets as part of routine care. Maintenance technicians are responsible for a variety of tasks including touch-up painting, furniture repairs, light fixture replacements, and grout and caulking inspections. They also address minor repairs such as tightening loose fixtures, changing light bulbs, and patching holes, contributing directly to guest satisfaction and overall property upkeep.
Safety is a top priority in this position; maintenance technicians must adhere strictly to company safety and security procedures, report any hazards or accidents immediately, and complete required safety training and certifications. The role requires physical stamina, as it involves bending, twisting, lifting weights up to 50 pounds or more with assistance, standing, sitting, or walking for extended periods. In addition to physical tasks, maintenance technicians must maintain a professional appearance, protect company assets, uphold confidentiality, and deliver courteous guest interactions according to company standards. Job Requirements
- High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent
- Less than 1 year related work experience
- No supervisory experience
- Ability to follow company safety policies
- Physical ability to lift and move heavy objects
- Availability to stand, sit, or walk for an entire shift

Job Duties
- Perform scheduled preventative maintenance in guest rooms, meeting rooms, and public spaces
- Flip and inspect mattresses and box springs
- Assemble bed frames, vacuum behind and underneath furniture
- Spot clean carpets and upholstery
- Dust and perform touch-up painting and furniture repairs
- Replace light fixtures
- Inspect and repair grout and caulking
- Conduct general cleaning of all guestroom surfaces including tubs, walls, floors, windows, and mirrors
- Report serious maintenance problems, unusual findings, or safety hazards to supervisors
- Follow all company safety and security policies and procedures
- Report accidents, injuries, and unsafe conditions
- Complete safety training and certifications
- Maintain uniform and professional appearance
- Protect company assets and confidentiality
- Welcome and acknowledge guests according to company standards
- Assist with moving, lifting, and placing heavy objects over 50 pounds
- Stand, sit, or walk for an entire work shift
- Perform additional job duties as requested
