Job Requirements
- High school graduation or GED required
- Janitorial or maintenance experience required
- Ability to work with minimal and close supervision
- Must conduct all business professionally and maintain confidentiality
- Ability to use hand tools, carts, and dollies
- Physical ability to work indoors and outdoors including fluorescent lighting, HVAC system, carpeted flooring, and normal office noise levels
- Ability to climb up to two flights of stairs
- Ability to lift objects of 25 pounds or less overhead
- Ability to move objects of 40 pounds or more
- Ability to work under time-sensitive or stressful situations
- Ability to respond to medical emergencies occasionally
- Willingness to assist with resident evacuations if ever required
Job Qualifications
- High school graduation or GED
- Two years of experience in a similar housekeeping position desired
- Technical certification from a janitorial program desired
- Ability to work with minimal and close supervision
- Professionalism and high level of confidentiality
- Ability to use hand tools, carts, and dollies
- Knowledge of fire and safety procedures including blood-borne pathogens beneficial
Job Duties
- Represent the campus positively while fostering respect and courtesy for residents and employees
- Promote safety and well-being of residents and employees according to campus programs
- Uphold the campus's Mission Statement
- Maintain confidentiality by following HIPAA standards
- Remove trash from campus collection areas
- Clean inhabited and vacant units to a "like new" condition including cabinets, surfaces, floors, glass, windows, walls, fixtures, and window sills
- Clean building areas to a "like new" condition including cabinets, surfaces, floors, glass, windows, walls, fixtures, and window sills
- Use cleaning chemicals and supplies properly
- Travel occasionally for training, continuing education, emergencies, and company functions
- Follow fire and safety procedures including those involving blood-borne pathogens
- Maintain a professional appearance and wear proper uniform
- Complete work and cleaning orders promptly
- Exercise waste control
- Interact well with marketing tours and prospective residents
- Maintain excellent resident and employee relations and handle complaints constructively
- Attend required employee in-services
- Perform additional duties as assigned by the Housekeeping Supervisor
