The role of the Housekeeper at The Waters is pivotal in upholding the community’s commitment to cleanliness and safety. The Housekeeper is responsible for ensuring that all common areas, including restrooms, dining rooms, elevators, hallways, stairs, and activity areas, meet the strict standards of cleanliness that the residents and guests expect. Additionally, the housekeeper cleans assigned resident apartments to a high standard, ensuring a comfortable and hygienic living space for each individual.

In tandem with maintenance staff, the Housekeeper helps maintain the overall look, smell, and upkeep of the building, reporting any maintenance issues or supply reductions promptly to the Environmental Services team. This sense of accountability is vital in delivering seamless service and maintaining The Waters’ reputation for outstanding care. Proper management of cleaning materials and chemical storage practices is also part of the responsibilities, ensuring safety standards are met.

Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent certificate preferred but not required
  • Previous experience in a related position preferred but not required
  • Possess compassion for and commitment to hospitality service and excellence in elderly care
  • Ability to communicate effectively with residents families staff vendors and the general public
  • Ability to be detail oriented

Job Duties

  • Clean all common areas according to standards including restrooms dining rooms elevators hallways landings stairs railings light fixtures resident activity areas and lobby
  • Clean all assigned resident apartments
  • Work as a team with maintenance to monitor the look smell cleanliness and maintenance of all spaces
  • Submit maintenance work orders to the Environmental Services team as needed
  • Notify Environmental Services Manager when supplies are diminishing
  • Maintain a clean orderly laundry room and store chemicals in accordance with product or supervisor instruction
  • Perform other duties as assigned
