Job Description
Loretto Health and Rehabilitation Center is a reputable healthcare establishment committed to providing high-quality care and support to its residents and participants across multiple service sites. Dedicated to upholding standards of safety, hygiene, and compassionate customer service, Loretto emphasizes creating a healthy and welcoming environment for all who enter its facilities. As part of the broader Loretto Corporation, the organization prides itself on fostering a culture of respect, professionalism, and continuous improvement, making it a trusted provider within the healthcare and rehabilitation community.
The Housekeeper role at Loretto is integral to maintaining cleanliness, sanitation, and safety in assigned areas such as resident rooms, hallways, stairways, elevators, and common spaces. This position is essential in ensuring that the facility environment is orderly, sanitary, and ready for new occupancy, thereby contributing to the overall comfort and well-being of residents and staff. The role involves diligent cleaning tasks, including monitoring refrigeration units, removing spoiled food, performing infection control procedures, and responding promptly to work orders. Housekeepers at Loretto are also expected to assist new residents during move-in procedures, which includes support like hanging clothing and making beds to enhance the resident experience.
Safety and compliance are fundamental aspects of this role, with the Housekeeper adhering strictly to universal precautions and infection control principles, especially when dealing with blood or bodily fluids. The position demands awareness of environmental safety, pest control, and prompt reporting of any unusual conditions. Loretto encourages its employees to embody the organization’s mission, values, and strategic goals by demonstrating excellent customer service, reliability, and professionalism. Employees are expected to actively participate in ongoing training and to maintain a high standard of attendance and workplace ethics.
The Housekeeper must be physically capable of handling various cleaning equipment like mops, vacuum cleaners, and floor machines, and be able to stand and walk for the duration of their shift while frequently lifting up to 50 pounds. The role may expose the employee to odors, medical waste, and unsanitary conditions, requiring a resilient and safety-conscious individual.
This position is available on a full-time basis with a competitive pay range of $18.56 to $18.90 per hour. Loretto offers comprehensive benefits including medical, dental, vision insurance, disability coverage, a tuition reimbursement program, and retirement plans. Employees can also enjoy perks like discounted gym memberships, paid time off, supportive employee coaching, and opportunities for career advancement within 19 different sites.
Working as a Housekeeper at Loretto means being part of a team that values dignity, kindness, and respect for all individuals. The role provides an opportunity to contribute meaningfully to the community by supporting a clean and safe environment essential for quality healthcare delivery. Candidates who join Loretto not only take on a key operational role but also join a company known for its commitment to employee development, workplace excellence, and fostering a positive, respectful culture.
