Job Requirements
- High school diploma, GED, or ability to pass a written TABE test
- ability to read, write and understand English
- ability to follow simple oral and written directions
- excellent customer service skills
- ability to stand and walk for duration of shift
- ability to use cleaning equipment such as mops, buckets, cleaning solutions, vacuum cleaners, utility carts, floor cleaning machines, wet/dry vacuums
- ability to work days, evenings or weekends
- ability to travel between work sites
- valid New York State driver’s license free from major infractions
- access to a reliable vehicle
- ability to lift up to 50 lbs
- ability to frequently perform physical activities including standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, grasping, climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, talking, seeing and repetitive motions
- willingness to be exposed to odors, medical waste, disease and unsanitary conditions
Job Qualifications

- compliance with HIPAA and regulatory requirements
- demonstration of good attendance and reliability
Job Duties
- Monitors refrigerators and removes spoiled food
- follows principles of infection control and universal precautions
- cleans blood and bodily fluids when required
- observes and reports pest control issues and unusual room or environmental safety conditions
- performs cleaning procedures after resident discharge or transfer
- assists new residents with move-in tasks such as hanging clothes
- makes beds and straightens residents' rooms
- cleans hallways, stairways and elevators as instructed
- responds to work orders promptly and completes associated documentation
- adheres to compliance policies and promotes service excellence
- demonstrates knowledge of emergency preparedness plans
- promotes the mission and values of Loretto in all interactions
- practices safety awareness and corrects or reports safety issues
- participates in required training and meetings
- performs additional related duties as assigned
