Job Requirements

  • Age 18 or over or have proper work permit and authorization
  • High school diploma or GED
  • Background clearances as required by government regulations
  • Complete a health screening and provide negative TB test results within last 6 months or 7 days of employment
  • Must be able to read, write, and speak English
  • Ability to follow oral and written directions
  • Ability to interact effectively with people of different ages and backgrounds
  • Physical ability to perform housekeeping duties including standing, bending, kneeling, stooping, pushing, pulling, lifting over 40 pounds
  • Ability to use standard cleaning equipment
  • Mandatory compliance with PPE and safety policies

Job Qualifications

Job Duties

  • Clean all resident apartments, common areas and offices of the property to assure the building is clean at all times
  • Ensure all appropriate caution and safety signs are properly set up and posted prior to performing duties that could cause slips or falls and taken down when risk is removed
  • Report any health, safety or sanitation concerns to the supervisor including apartment repairs needing attention
  • Follow the work and cleaning schedules as closely as practical
  • Monitor and remove all trash and waste from inside areas of community to designated trash cans or areas with continued monitoring throughout shift
  • Keep work areas attractive and free of hazardous objects, putting equipment away as soon as the job is finished
  • Use all appropriate safety and protective equipment and supplies when handling hazardous waste or chemicals
  • Follow established PPE policies when handling chemicals and cleaning supplies
  • Follow techniques, procedures and policies for properly storing, using and mixing chemicals, disinfectants, and solutions used for cleaning and for the disposal of waste
  • Lock and control all housekeeping supplies and carts, ensuring chemicals and hazardous materials are not left unattended
  • Follow policies governing use of labels and Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS)
  • Assist in marketing the community by displaying a positive and professional image through actions and dress
  • Encourage teamwork through open communication with co-workers and other departments
  • Display tact and friendliness when dealing with residents, families, and guests
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Director of Environmental Services, Director of Housekeeping, or Executive Director
