Job Qualifications
- Knowledge of proper care and maintenance of carpets and furniture
- ability to handle and control heavy powered equipment
- knowledge of proper uses of a variety of special cleaning and sanitizing solutions
- ability to remove different kinds of stains from various surfaces
- ability to read and understand directions on labels and printed instructions
- ability to perform duties independently with general supervision
- experience with spot checks for adherence to instructions, completeness, quantity and quality
- physical capability to stand, bend, stoop, reach and lift objects
- ability to climb ladders and operate industrial equipment
- ability to lift and carry objects up to 45 lbs independently and over 45 lbs with assistance
- experience working indoors under normal conditions while being exposed to cleaning solution odors and vibrations from heavy equipment
Job Duties
- Make beds, change sheets, towels, and other linens
- thoroughly clean guest rooms including dusting, waxing, and polishing furniture
- sweep floors, vacuum and shampoo rugs
- empty ashtrays and wastebaskets
- sanitize lavatories
- wash walls and windows using a ladder
- dust drapes and blinds
- turn mattresses
- sanitize fixtures and bedding with disinfectant
- service each room daily with necessary supplies
- report missing or broken articles to supervisor
- scrub, strip, wax and polish floors using industrial equipment
- wash and replace Venetian blinds
- wash ceiling fixtures
- move heavy furniture
- provide world-class customer service with an emphasis on courtesy
- assist customers and communicate positively
- acknowledge customers, smile and make eye contact
- ask questions to solve problems
- check for satisfaction on quality of goods and services
- take action to solve problems quickly
- alert supervisor or proper point of contact when problems arise
- adhere to safety regulations and standards
- use required safety equipment
- observe safe work procedures
- report workplace hazards and injuries promptly
- support principles of EEO program and prevention of sexual harassment
- perform other related duties as assigned
