Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- 6 months of related experience required
- 1-2 years housekeeping experience preferred
- 1 year lead experience preferred
- good verbal and written communication skills
- capable of working independently
- able to set priorities and be flexible in assignments
- able to work around housekeeping chemicals
- full range of motion and ability to lift 50 lbs

Job Duties
- Empty, clean and reline trash containers
- properly dispose of all waste including biohazardous materials
- high dust surfaces above shoulder height
- sanitize and spot clean
- clean restrooms, restocking dispensers
- dust hard surface floors/vacuum carpets
- sanitize floors/carpets
- ensure customer satisfaction with completed work
- perform additional cleaning and bed making as required by patient discharge or transfer including removal of clinical support equipment and supplies as well as soiled linen
- conduct specialized cleaning and support for patient isolations
- terminal cleaning of operating, emergency, labor and delivery, ICU and/or special procedures rooms including specialized furniture and equipment
- assist supervisor with training new hires and in-service training with staff
- perform patient interviews on incoming and discharging patients to inform them of expectations from the EVS department
- follow up on complaints and concerns made by patients, family members and staff
- perform duties of supervisor in their absence
- adhere to Patient Safety Goals
- respond to emergency situations appropriately
- demonstrate knowledge of emergency preparedness codes
- recognize safety hazards and act to protect patients, self and others
- perform other related duties as assigned
