Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Ability to read, write, and speak English
  • Prior experience in institutional housekeeping or maintenance preferred
  • Ability to operate floor-care equipment
  • Physical ability to perform cleaning tasks
  • Willingness to comply with safety and abuse prevention policies
  • Ability to work full time during the day shift

Job Qualifications

  • Experience in institutional housekeeping or maintenance is helpful
  • Experience in the use of floor-care equipment is helpful
  • Ability to read, write, and speak the English language
  • Knowledge of cleaning chemicals and safety protocols
  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions
  • Good communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Job Duties

  • Perform scheduled housekeeping tasks as assigned by Housekeeping Supervisor
  • Mop, sweep, dust, wash windows, shampoo and vacuum carpets
  • Arrange furniture and clean furniture, equipment, fixtures, and hardware
  • Clean and sanitize patient rooms, bathrooms, and common areas daily
  • Use proper chemicals and floor-care equipment in correct proportions
  • Empty trash containers, replace liners, and dispose of trash properly
  • Report repair needs to Supervisor or maintenance department
  • Request needed supplies and equipment from Supervisor
  • Identify and correct safety hazards
  • Abide by safety rules and comply with abuse prevention policies
  • Attend weekly in-services and comply with Patient Care Management Systems
  • Assure patient and resident safety
  • Perform other duties as assigned
