Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Minimum of 3 months prior work experience
  • Ability to perform physical tasks involved in housekeeping
  • Willingness to work on call as needed
  • Ability to follow federal, state and corporate policies and health codes
  • Successful completion of pre-employment physical, physical abilities test, drug screen and Department of Justice criminal background clearance
  • Commitment to workplace safety and use of personal protective equipment

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Prior housekeeping experience preferred but not required
  • Ability to provide quality customer service
  • Knowledge of cleaning supplies and equipment
  • Ability to follow safety standards and protocols
  • Physical ability to lift and move furniture and operate cleaning equipment
  • Effective communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Willingness to attend mandatory in-service training
  • Commitment to providing a clean and safe environment

Job Duties

  • Provide quality customer service efficiently to residents, families, co-workers and vendors in a manner to ensure satisfaction
  • Dust furniture, wash walls, ceilings and woodwork, windows, door panels and sills
  • Vacuum rugs, carpets, upholstered furniture, draperies and hallways
  • Rearrange small furniture if needed
  • Sweep, scrub and wax floors
  • Empty wastebaskets and clean ashtrays
  • Transport trash and waste to disposal area
  • Clean lobbies, lounges, restrooms, elevators, elevator landings, stairways and hallways as scheduled
  • Report when equipment, structures, or furniture needs repair
  • Assist with laundry and linens as assigned
  • Perform final cleanings for new residents
  • Stock and maintain supply rooms as needed
  • Perform all stages of linen processing including collecting, transporting, sorting, weighing, loading and unloading washers, dryers, and chutes, ironing, folding, storing and delivering
  • Maintain cleanliness of laundry machinery and laundry area
  • Perform emergency housekeeping when accidents or special needs arise
  • Follow department safety standards and participate in campus-wide safety programs
  • Wear personal protective equipment and report any safety hazards or accidents to supervisor
  • Attend all mandatory in-service meetings
  • Comply with all department and facility policies and procedures
