Job Requirements
- High school diploma or GED
- Minimum of 3 months prior work experience
- Ability to perform physical tasks involved in housekeeping
- Willingness to work on call as needed
- Ability to follow federal, state and corporate policies and health codes
- Successful completion of pre-employment physical, physical abilities test, drug screen and Department of Justice criminal background clearance
- Commitment to workplace safety and use of personal protective equipment
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Prior housekeeping experience preferred but not required
- Ability to provide quality customer service
- Knowledge of cleaning supplies and equipment
- Ability to follow safety standards and protocols
- Physical ability to lift and move furniture and operate cleaning equipment
- Effective communication skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Willingness to attend mandatory in-service training
- Commitment to providing a clean and safe environment
Job Duties
- Provide quality customer service efficiently to residents, families, co-workers and vendors in a manner to ensure satisfaction
- Dust furniture, wash walls, ceilings and woodwork, windows, door panels and sills
- Vacuum rugs, carpets, upholstered furniture, draperies and hallways
- Rearrange small furniture if needed
- Sweep, scrub and wax floors
- Empty wastebaskets and clean ashtrays
- Transport trash and waste to disposal area
- Clean lobbies, lounges, restrooms, elevators, elevator landings, stairways and hallways as scheduled
- Report when equipment, structures, or furniture needs repair
- Assist with laundry and linens as assigned
- Perform final cleanings for new residents
- Stock and maintain supply rooms as needed
- Perform all stages of linen processing including collecting, transporting, sorting, weighing, loading and unloading washers, dryers, and chutes, ironing, folding, storing and delivering
- Maintain cleanliness of laundry machinery and laundry area
- Perform emergency housekeeping when accidents or special needs arise
- Follow department safety standards and participate in campus-wide safety programs
- Wear personal protective equipment and report any safety hazards or accidents to supervisor
- Attend all mandatory in-service meetings
- Comply with all department and facility policies and procedures
