Job Description

MultiCare is a leading healthcare organization deeply committed to providing exceptional care and fostering a genuine sense of belonging for all its employees. Established over 140 years ago, MultiCare operates an extensive network of healthcare facilities across the Pacific Northwest, offering a dynamic range of meaningful careers, opportunities for professional growth, safe workplaces, and flexible schedules. With a mission centered around partnering and healing for a healthy future, MultiCare dedicates itself to the health and well-being of the communities it serves by delivering compassionate, patient-focused services across its hospitals and medical centers.

One of MultiCare's prominent facilities is MultiCare Deaconess Hospital, located in Spokane, Washington. Founded in 1896, this 388-bed acute-care hospital has grown into a comprehensive healthcare hub serving the greater Spokane region. Deaconess Hospital offers a wide array of specialized services, including a Level III Trauma Center, Certified Chest Pain Center, Primary Stroke Center, Maternal Fetal Medicine program, and a Level III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit. Notably, it is the only hospital in the area with national accreditation in bariatric surgery. The hospital emphasizes high-quality inpatient, outpatient, surgical, diagnostic, and emergency services, all delivered through expertly trained staff dedicated to patient care and safety.

Nestled in the vibrant and picturesque Spokane community, MultiCare Deaconess Hospital benefits from its location along the Spokane River, near the Selkirk Mountains. Spokane is known for its vibrant urban experience paired with extensive outdoor recreational opportunities. Residents enjoy access to lakes, rivers, ski resorts, golf courses, wineries, and national parks, alongside a rich cultural scene driven by arts and community events. This blend of city amenities and natural beauty contributes to an excellent quality of life, making it an attractive location for both work and leisure.

The role of Housekeeper at MultiCare Deaconess Hospital represents an entry-level opportunity within the Environmental Services team. As a Housekeeper, you will play an essential role in maintaining a safe, clean, and welcoming environment for patients, families, visitors, and staff. Your work will directly impact the overall patient experience by ensuring that environmental surfaces and facilities are kept in an orderly and sanitary condition.

This full-time position involves working an evening shift on an 8-hour schedule, providing continuity of care and cleanliness during crucial times of hospital operation. The Housekeeper will be responsible for completing cleaning tasks efficiently and thoroughly while coordinating with patient care personnel and other support departments. Effective communication and teamwork are critical components of this role, as you will regularly partner with nursing staff and colleagues to ensure that all environmental needs are met promptly and with a service-oriented attitude.

In addition to hands-on cleaning duties, the Housekeeper will also contribute to organizing and managing department tasks in collaboration with other support services. This position demands professional integrity, a commitment to quality, and a positive approach to workplace collaboration. Being part of MultiCare means you will also benefit from numerous professional growth resources, including competitive tuition assistance, award-winning residency programs, and career development opportunities, all aimed at fostering your long-term success within the healthcare industry.

MultiCare values respect, kindness, integrity, and collaboration, guiding how employees care for patients, communities, and each other. The organization invests in creating an inclusive workplace where every voice is valued through Employee Resource Groups, inclusion initiatives, and outreach programs. Working at MultiCare offers the opportunity to embrace a Pacific Northwest lifestyle, blending natural beauty and strong community connections with professional purpose.

Finally, this position offers a competitive salary ranging from $19.78 to $29.43 per hour, influenced by experience, skills, certifications, and education. MultiCare supports its employees with a comprehensive benefits package including medical, dental, retirement benefits, and paid time off, ensuring both your health and financial well-being are prioritized as part of this rewarding career opportunity.
