Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Experience with Marriott, Hilton, IHG or Wyndham cleaning standards
  • Basic knowledge of cleaning principles and cleaning product usage
  • Ability to lift up to 50lbs during an 8 hour shift
  • Vision to see minute debris in poorly lit areas
  • Ability to push, pull and move furniture and equipment
  • Ability to work with arms raised above head for extended periods
  • Ability to maneuver a loaded maid cart weighing up to 50lbs
  • Strong communication skills
  • Ability to read and write
  • Problem-solving and motivating abilities
  • Flexible schedule availability including nights, weekends and holidays
  • Passion for people and service

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or secondary qualification or equivalent
  • Experience with Marriott, Hilton, IHG, Wyndham or similar cleaning standards
  • Basic knowledge of general cleaning principles and the use of cleaning products
  • Ability to lift up to 50lbs continually during an 8 hour shift
  • Vision ability to see minute debris and dirt in poorly lit areas
  • Finger, hand and upper body dexterity to push, pull and move levers, equipment and furniture
  • Ability to work with arms raised above the head throughout the shift
  • Strong communication skills
  • Ability to read and write for completing paperwork and logging information
  • Problem-solving and reasoning skills
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends and holidays
  • Passionate about people and service

Job Duties

  • Retrieves items from shelves and storerooms, sets up cleaning cart with supplies, constantly maintaining carts and storerooms in a clean and orderly fashion
  • Cleans and wipes windows, doors, walls, closets and fixtures in rooms, public areas and hallways, often using ladders or stools
  • Washes shower walls and tubs, cleans toilets and stall walls if applicable, wipes exposed pipes, cleans mirrors, sinks and walls
  • Replaces towels, soaps and all room amenities and restocks literature
  • Washes all hard floor areas by hand to remove dirt and soiled areas
  • Dusts and polishes all furniture, fixtures and wall hangings including vents and ceiling corners
  • Strips bed of all linen and remakes with fresh linens checking bedspread, blankets and bed pads for cleanliness
  • Checks closet for cleanliness and restocks guest room supplies such as hangers, extra blankets and pillows
  • Vacuums rooms, public areas and hallways including underneath furniture
  • Inspects door and window locks to ensure they are working and alerts management to unsafe situations
  • Inspects all room equipment and reports deficiencies to executive housekeeper
  • Secures and maintains custody of equipment, keys and supplies
  • Maintains a friendly, cheerful and courteous demeanor at all times
  • Assists laundry department by retrieving soiled linen, sorting laundry, using industrial washers, dryers and pressers, folding and distributing linen
  • Cleans patio/balcony areas by sweeping or hosing the floor and wiping down furniture
  • Provides assistance to other employees and departments
  • Performs other duties as assigned
