The Housekeeper plays a crucial role in maintaining the cleanliness and appearance of guest rooms and public areas to ensure guest satisfaction. The role requires meticulous attention to detail and physical stamina, as it involves a variety of cleaning tasks using different cleaning products and equipment. Responsibilities include stocking and organizing cleaning carts, wiping windows and doors, sanitizing bathrooms, replacing room amenities, dusting and polishing furniture, vacuuming, inspecting room equipment for proper functioning, and reporting maintenance issues. Additionally, the Housekeeper assists the laundry department by handling soiled linens and ensures that patio and balcony areas are clean and inviting. Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Experience with Marriott, Hilton, IHG or Wyndham cleaning standards
- Basic knowledge of cleaning principles and cleaning product usage
- Ability to lift up to 50lbs during an 8 hour shift
- Vision to see minute debris in poorly lit areas
- Ability to push, pull and move furniture and equipment
- Ability to work with arms raised above head for extended periods
- Ability to maneuver a loaded maid cart weighing up to 50lbs
- Strong communication skills
- Ability to read and write
- Problem-solving and motivating abilities
- Flexible schedule availability including nights, weekends and holidays

Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or secondary qualification or equivalent
- Experience with Marriott, Hilton, IHG, Wyndham or similar cleaning standards
- Basic knowledge of general cleaning principles and the use of cleaning products
- Ability to lift up to 50lbs continually during an 8 hour shift
- Vision ability to see minute debris and dirt in poorly lit areas
- Finger, hand and upper body dexterity to push, pull and move levers, equipment and furniture
- Ability to work with arms raised above the head throughout the shift
- Strong communication skills
- Ability to read and write for completing paperwork and logging information
- Problem-solving and reasoning skills
- Ability to work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends and holidays

Job Duties
- Retrieves items from shelves and storerooms, sets up cleaning cart with supplies, constantly maintaining carts and storerooms in a clean and orderly fashion
- Cleans and wipes windows, doors, walls, closets and fixtures in rooms, public areas and hallways, often using ladders or stools
- Washes shower walls and tubs, cleans toilets and stall walls if applicable, wipes exposed pipes, cleans mirrors, sinks and walls
- Replaces towels, soaps and all room amenities and restocks literature
- Washes all hard floor areas by hand to remove dirt and soiled areas
- Dusts and polishes all furniture, fixtures and wall hangings including vents and ceiling corners
- Strips bed of all linen and remakes with fresh linens checking bedspread, blankets and bed pads for cleanliness
- Checks closet for cleanliness and restocks guest room supplies such as hangers, extra blankets and pillows
- Vacuums rooms, public areas and hallways including underneath furniture
- Inspects door and window locks to ensure they are working and alerts management to unsafe situations
- Inspects all room equipment and reports deficiencies to executive housekeeper
- Secures and maintains custody of equipment, keys and supplies
- Maintains a friendly, cheerful and courteous demeanor at all times
- Assists laundry department by retrieving soiled linen, sorting laundry, using industrial washers, dryers and pressers, folding and distributing linen
- Cleans patio/balcony areas by sweeping or hosing the floor and wiping down furniture
- Provides assistance to other employees and departments
- Performs other duties as assigned
