Job Description

Courtyard by Marriott Philadelphia Valley Forge, located in Wayne, Pennsylvania, is part of the renowned Marriott International portfolio. Marriott International is globally recognized for its commitment to excellence in hospitality, providing superior guest experiences and fostering a diverse and inclusive workplace environment. Courtyard by Marriott specializes in offering a contemporary stay tailored to business travelers and leisure guests, emphasizing comfort, convenience, and quality service throughout its properties.

This particular property at 1100 Drummers Ln is designed to meet the distinct needs of travelers, providing modern amenities, comfortable guest rooms, and dedicated meeting spaces. The hotel's commitment to service excellence is supported by a workforce that values teamwork, continuous improvement, and passion for guest satisfaction.

The role on offer is a part-time, non-management position in the Engineering & Facilities category, focused primarily on general cleaning and preventative maintenance during the evening shift, with weekend availability preferred. As a member of the maintenance team, your responsibilities revolve around ensuring guest rooms, meeting rooms, and public areas are maintained to the highest standards through scheduled preventive maintenance activities and repairs.

In this role, you will conduct preventive maintenance in guest rooms, including tasks such as turning and inspecting mattresses and box springs, assembling bed frames, vacuuming behind and under furniture, removing stains from carpets and upholstery, dusting, touching up paint, and ensuring all fixtures and appliances are present and in perfect working order. You will also be responsible for minor repairs like adjusting loose toilet seats, replacing light bulbs, and patching holes in walls.

Thorough cleaning duties encompass all guest room surfaces including bathtubs, tiles, floors, walls, windows, and mirrors. You are expected to communicate serious maintenance issues, unusual findings, or safety hazards immediately to management. Adherence to company safety policies is paramount, including reporting accidents, injuries, and unsafe conditions while participating in continuous safety training and certification.

Your role also requires maintaining a professional appearance consistent with company standards and safeguarding the confidentiality of company information and property. Guest interaction is an important part of the job, where you will greet and recognize guests according to company standards, anticipate their service needs, and address them efficiently to enhance their experience.

Physical demands include reaching above head height and below knee level, bending, twisting the waist, dragging and leaning, moving and lifting objects up to 50 pounds independently, and assisting with heavier loads. The position also involves standing, sitting, or walking for extended periods during shifts.

At Courtyard by Marriott Philadelphia Valley Forge, you will be part of a vibrant, ambitious team committed to achieving common goals while fostering positive working relationships. The culture emphasizes quality standards, passion for continuous improvement, and having fun while delivering exceptional guest experiences. Joining this team provides an opportunity to be part of the globally respected Marriott International family where you can develop professionally and personally, working in an environment that values inclusion and diversity and is committed to providing equal employment opportunities without discrimination.

If you are passionate about hospitality, maintenance, and guest service, and enjoy working in a dynamic team-oriented environment, this position offers a rewarding opportunity to grow your skills and contribute to guest satisfaction at a prominent hotel brand.
