Job Description
The hiring organization is a reputable hospital known for its commitment to providing exceptional healthcare services and maintaining a clean, safe environment for patients, visitors, and staff. As a prominent healthcare institution, the hospital emphasizes quality patient care supported by a dedicated team that ensures all aspects of the facility meet stringent hygiene and safety standards. The hospital’s operational excellence extends beyond medical expertise to include comprehensive support services like housekeeping, crucial for the overall patient experience and infection control.
This role is a vital part of the hospital’s housekeeping department, responsible for delivering daily cleaning services that maintain the cleanliness and functionality of patient rooms, public areas, and common spaces. The position is full-time, requiring 40 hours per week with scheduled shifts from Monday through Friday, specifically from 3:00 p.m. to 11:30 p.m. Employees in this role partake in a weekend and holiday rotation as mandated by the department, ensuring round-the-clock cleanliness and readiness of the facility. Additionally, the hospital offers a shift differential for evening work and benefits that commence from the first day of employment, highlighting the commitment to employee welfare.
The key responsibilities for this hospital housekeeping role include performing discharge cleaning in inpatient rooms to prepare them for the next patient admission, setting up rooms and making changes as necessary, and conducting routine cleaning activities throughout inpatient and public areas using established procedures. Maintaining the cleanliness and function of housekeeping equipment and promptly reporting any maintenance or repair needs to supervisors or management is also a critical part of the job. This role involves adhering strictly to prescribed cleaning protocols to support infection control policies and overall patient safety.
This position is ideal for individuals seeking an entry-level opportunity within a healthcare setting, emphasizing no prior experience or supervisory experience requirements. However, having a high school diploma or GED and up to two years of relevant experience in cleaning or housekeeping would be advantageous. The role requires reliability, attention to detail, and the ability to follow procedures accurately. It also offers valuable experience in a hospital environment, which can be a stepping stone for career advancement within healthcare support services.
Overall, the hospital is looking for responsible, proactive individuals who understand the importance of their role in supporting the health and safety of patients through diligent housekeeping practices. This is an excellent opportunity to work in a structured, supportive environment with fair working hours, benefits starting immediately, and the chance to contribute meaningfully to the healthcare community.
