Job Description

We are currently seeking a full-time Housekeeper to join our team, working the 7 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. shift, which includes an every-third-weekend rotation. This role is vital to ensuring that the care center remains clean, safe, and comfortable for all residents, visitors, and staff members. The Housekeeper will be responsible for various cleaning duties, including resident rooms, bathrooms, common areas, and staff work zones. They will perform routine cleaning tasks such as mopping, dusting, vacuuming, washing windows and walls, polishing, and scrubbing to uphold hygiene standards. The Housekeeper will also be responsible for re-stocking housekeeping carts and dispensers, maintaining equipment safety, and assisting with dining room clean-up when necessary.

The position requires adherence to infection control protocols, facility policies, and safety guidelines, particularly when handling cleaning equipment and chemicals. Strong communication and interpersonal skills are essential to maintain positive relationships with residents, families, and healthcare colleagues. The ideal candidate should have a high school diploma or GED equivalent and previous experience in healthcare or long-term care settings is preferred but not mandatory. Compensation for this role starts competitively from $16 to $17.92 per hour, based on qualifications, experience, and location. Additional shift premiums and differentials may also be available. Job Duties

  • Clean resident rooms, bathrooms, common resident/tenant areas, staff work areas and other common areas used by staff and visitors
  • perform cleaning procedures such as mopping, dusting, vacuuming, washing windows and walls, polishing and scrubbing
  • ensure that all work areas and carts are kept safe, neat, and secure
  • apply infection control and department and facility policies and procedures that directly affect housekeeping duties
  • follow all safety rules when using equipment and chemicals and report unsafe work areas to a supervisor
  • maintain a positive relationship with residents/tenants, families, and other staff
  • re-stock housekeeping carts, soap dispensers, paper towel dispensers, and toilet tissue dispensers throughout the campus
  • keep all equipment clean, locked as indicated, and in a safe manner, as work dictates
  • assist with dining room clean-up process as needed
