The Housekeeper role at Harmony is a vital position focused on maintaining the cleanliness and hygiene standards throughout the community. This position entails thorough cleaning of all common living areas and resident apartments with particular attention to bathrooms and high-traffic spaces. The housekeeping team plays an essential role in overseeing the upkeep of the entire facility, ensuring that the environment remains healthy and pleasant for residents and visitors alike. This role requires someone diligent and proactive in recognizing and reporting any deterioration or damages in the building and furnishings, ensuring these issues are promptly addressed for safety and aesthetic purposes. Additionally, the Housekeeper is responsible for the use and maintenance of laundry equipment, managing the storage and use of cleaning supplies, and performing dusting and vacuuming tasks across various indoor spaces.

Beyond cleaning tasks, the role also demands commitment to resident confidentiality and respect, following strict policies regarding the handling of resident information. The Housekeeper must exhibit professionalism by maintaining personal hygiene and adhering to uniform standards during work hours. This position requires physical stamina, with duties including lifting, walking, kneeling, and other activities necessary for effective facility maintenance. Job Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Housekeeping experience highly desired
  • Ability to understand verbal and written instructions
  • Ability to complete assignments thoroughly and on time
  • Ability to work well with others as part of a team
  • Polite and courteous to all residents, visitors, co-workers and management team
  • Must be able to stand, walk, kneel, bend, grasp, push and pull for extended periods of time
  • Must be able to lift 25 lbs and carry heavy objects for up to 20 feet
  • Must wear designated uniform during work hours and maintain good personal hygiene
  • Must be willing to work a flexible schedule that includes weekends and holidays

Job Duties

  • Oversee cleaning of the entire facility with particular emphasis on the common areas and apartment bathrooms
  • Complete maintenance request reports when needed
  • Report deterioration or damage to the building and furnishings to housekeeping supervisor
  • Operate the laundry equipment when needed
  • Report inadequate quantities of all supplies needed to perform duties to housekeeping supervisor
  • Use only approved cleaning products and ensure that all cleaning supplies are properly stored at all times
  • Clean office areas when assigned
  • Dust and clean all window blinds in the community
  • Dust all furniture, book shelves, etc. in resident apartments and common areas
  • Vacuum common areas and resident apartments
  • Keep common area and resident bathrooms clean
  • Clean apartments at resident move-out
  • Attend required in-services and staff meetings
  • Maintain resident privacy/confidentiality at all times, follow all policies regarding release of resident information
  • Other duties as assigned
