Job Description

Felician Sisters of North America is a faith-based religious organization that has been serving communities since 1874, dedicated to providing compassionate care and creating a warm, supportive environment for its members. Based in Chicago, near the Lincolnwood and North Park neighborhoods (60659 area), this non-profit convent home specializes in caring for elder Franciscan sisters. The organization is committed to fostering a respectful and nurturing atmosphere that supports the religious life and well-being of the sisters while also encouraging teamwork and meaningful interpersonal connections among staff and residents. With a long-standing history and a mission centered on service, the Felician Sisters focus on maintaining a thriving living and working environment where collaboration among all departments is key to delivering satisfaction and care to the community they serve.

A full-time Housekeeper is currently sought for the day shift to maintain the cleanliness and orderliness of the convent home. The work schedule is 32 hours weekly, Monday through Friday, from 7:00 am to 3:30 pm, providing a stable work-life balance for employees. This position is ideal for candidates who are dedicated, detail-oriented, and value a team-oriented workplace. The Housekeeper will perform essential cleaning duties such as making beds, replenishing linens, cleaning rooms, hallways, restrooms, and vacuuming or mopping floors to ensure a sanitary environment. Additionally, candidates should be willing to cross-train in other departments, including kitchen cleaning and laundry tasks, enhancing their versatility and contributing to a collaborative team atmosphere.

The hourly wage for this role ranges from $17.00 to $20.50, depending on experience, qualifications, and internal equity. The Felician Sisters offer a comprehensive benefits package that stands out in the non-profit sector, including outstanding health insurance covering medical, dental, and vision, with affordable premiums and low deductibles. Full-time employees also qualify for a generous 403b retirement program with an employer match of up to 6%, providing financial security for the future. Additional perks include up to 25 days of paid time off annually, inclusive of holidays, an employee referral bonus program, annual pay increases, and discounts on services such as Sprint, Verizon, and Dell, as well as access to wellness and employee assistance programs. The position also offers unique benefits like an emergency assistance fund, a mentor program with paid orientation and wage increase, and a clothing benefit program for health services or facilities management staff.

This job opportunity allows candidates to join a committed and supportive facility team that partners with the sisters who have joyfully served since the 19th century. Candidates who are motivated by a mission to support elder care in a respectful religious community will find this role rewarding both professionally and personally. The environment encourages employees to engage in quality interpersonal experiences, fostering meaningful connections that enhance the lives of the residents. Prospective housekeepers will become integral members of a diverse team that values cooperation, respect, and the shared goal of maintaining a welcoming and clean living space for the elderly sisters. If you are ready to contribute to a compassionate community with excellent benefits and a stable work schedule, this role offers a fantastic opportunity to grow and make a difference.
