Job Description
Coachella Valley Behavioral Health is a new premier inpatient treatment center dedicated to providing exceptional care for adults aged 18 and older. This 80-bed hospital is set to open soon and aims to establish the highest standard for nursing care in behavioral health. The role of the housekeeper at Coachella Valley Behavioral Health is vital in maintaining the cleanliness and health standards of the hospital. Housekeepers play a key role in supporting the overall patient experience by keeping the patient care environment sanitary and orderly. This position offers a starting salary of $24 per hour with a work schedule from 11:00 am to 7:30 pm, Monday through Friday, including a rotation weekend shift. The housekeeper’s duties are essential for infection control and ensuring that all areas of the hospital uphold the high standards expected in healthcare settings.
Housekeepers at this facility perform a range of cleaning and custodial tasks, ensuring all patient rooms, common areas, and specialized spaces are kept in pristine condition. This includes disinfecting rooms, furniture, fixtures, equipment, and supplies using appropriate cleaning processes and germicides. The position requires handling various housekeeping duties such as moving and arranging furniture, turning mattresses, cleaning kitchens and cooking utensils, silverware, and performing floor care activities like sweeping, scrubbing, waxing, or polishing as necessary. Laundering soiled linens and maintaining cleaning supply inventories are also part of the role.
Additional responsibilities include preparing rooms for meetings and facility functions, arranging decorations and furniture, and properly cleaning and storing equipment and supplies after each shift. Housekeepers are also responsible for stocking supplies as needed, following all infection control measures strictly to prevent contamination and ensure patient and staff safety. - High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- previous experience in housekeeping in a commercial, clinical or healthcare environment preferred

Job Duties
- Perform specific cleaning and custodial tasks in the general upkeep, sanitation and cleanliness of the facility
- disinfect rooms, furniture, fixtures, equipment and supplies using appropriate processes and germicides for cleaning equipment
- perform other housekeeping duties such as move and arrange furniture, turn mattresses, clean kitchens, cooking utensils, silverware, sweep, scrub, wax or polish floors as needed
- launder soiled linens as directed
- maintain adequate cleaning supplies for department/unit use
- properly clean and store all equipment and supplies after each shift
- prepare rooms for meetings and arrange decorations and furniture for facility functions
- responsible for stocking of supplies as needed
- follow all infection control measures
