This job opening is with a reputable facility operating in the maintenance and housekeeping sector, with locations in Dorchester and Randolph. This position operates within the Maintenance Department and plays a critical role in ensuring the facility remains orderly and adheres to safety standards. Employment is part-time and scheduled during evening and overnight shifts, specifically Friday through Sunday from 11pm to 7am in the Dorchester location and Tuesday from 3pm to 11pm in Randolph. The salary offered ranges from $16.16 to $24.99 per hour, reflecting the company's commitment to competitive compensation for the quality of work expected.
The position is primarily responsible for maintaining cleanliness and sanitation by performing a variety of housekeeping duties that include sweeping, scrubbing, mopping, waxing, and buffing floors as well as removing refuse and cleaning restrooms and common areas. The role demands a detail-oriented individual capable of independently handling responsibilities while also working cooperatively with team members. Additionally, the position requires vigilance in monitoring building security by performing property checks and using pager systems to stay alert to emergencies that may affect resident safety.
Beyond routine cleaning, the role requires addressing resident emergencies and concerns promptly and professionally, ensuring the highest quality of service delivery to residents and their families. This requires technical knowledge of cleaning procedures, excellent organizational skills, and superior customer service and interpersonal communication abilities. Also important is the ability to follow instructions and procedural guidelines accurately and in a timely manner while maintaining respect for resident privacy and dignity.
The position involves physical tasks such as frequent bending, stooping, reaching, standing for extended durations, and lifting or pushing loads up to 50 pounds. This demands a candidate with both physical stamina and an understanding of safe lifting techniques to prevent injury. Job Duties
- Keep all walkways and entranceways clear and safe during weather related emergencies
- Sweep, scrub, mop, vacuum, wax and buff floors, remove refuse, clean restrooms and other common areas
- Ensure building security by performing property checks and monitoring pager system
- Respond to resident emergencies
- Address concerns and cleaning needs of the facility in a timely and professional manner
- Report any system failures and/or unsafe conditions in a timely manner
- Ensure that residents and families receive the highest quality of service
- Perform other duties as assigned
