Job Description

Minnehaha Country Club, located in Sioux Falls, is an esteemed private club that has been serving its members since 1905. The Facilities Maintenance Team at Minnehaha Country Club plays a vital role in maintaining the club’s high standards of cleanliness and presentation. We are currently seeking a dedicated Housekeeper who will be responsible for ensuring all clubhouse areas, including dining rooms, fitness center, pool and spa, locker rooms, and common spaces, are immaculate and member-ready at all times. This position is pivotal to the member experience, as a clean and aesthetically pleasing environment is essential in reflecting the club’s commitment to excellence.

The Housekeeper will perform a variety of housekeeping duties to uphold the standards set by the club’s management team. These tasks include vacuuming, dusting, polishing, and maintaining woodwork, as well as cleaning restrooms and replenishing supplies. The role requires attention to detail, a strong work ethic, and the ability to work independently while also being a cooperative member of the Facilities Maintenance Team. Working hours are typically from 5:30 am to 12:30 pm, Tuesday through Sunday, with a 35-40 hour workweek, although additional hours may be needed during tournaments or special events.

A successful candidate will not only possess the physical stamina necessary for this role, including the ability to stand for extended periods, use ladders safely, and lift up to 25 pounds but also demonstrate a positive attitude and dedication to enhancing the member experience. Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED preferred
  • Minimum of 1 year relevant housekeeping or cleaning experience required
  • Ability to stand on feet for 5 hours
  • Ability to use ladders safely
  • Ability to lift up to 25 pounds
  • Ability to perform strenuous work including lifting pushing pulling and bending
  • Show up to work on time and in clean uniform attire
  • Show respect to members and other staff
  • Ability to stay focused despite interruptions throughout the day

Job Qualifications

  • Relevant experience in housekeeping or cleaning
  • High school diploma or GED preferred
  • Ability to work independently and as a contributing team member

Job Duties

  • Maintain a clean aesthetically desirable and safe club environment which meets expectations of management team as well as members and guests
  • Perform housekeeping functions such as vacuuming dusting polishing maintaining woodwork and other vital housekeeping functions
  • Clean member and employee restrooms restock restroom supplies
  • Vacuum wash carpets and mop floors throughout the club including dining areas
  • Empty all wastebaskets and ashtrays take to dumpster
  • Disinfect commonly touched surfaces
  • Wash inside and outside of windows
  • Report any damage burned-out light bulbs and plumbing problems to the Building Engineer
  • Clean glass tables counters shelves desks office equipment and door handles
  • Clean locker room areas including showers and bath areas
  • Clean walls throughout clubhouse as necessary
  • Conduct deep-cleaning projects
  • Clean all restrooms on golf course and at the pool
  • Vacuum elevators clean stairwells and landings dust ceiling light fixtures do spot cleaning as necessary check window treatments for needed repairs and cleanliness
  • Transport linen to and from the linen room
  • Attend departmental staff meetings
  • Complete house training assignments
  • Order supplies when needed with approval of supervisor
