Avera Behavioral Health Center is well-regarded for its supportive environment, innovative treatments, and dedication to improving the mental health and wellness of the community it serves. The organization fosters a culture of respect, collaboration, and continual improvement, offering employees a workplace where they can make a meaningful difference in the lives of others.

The role of Housekeeper at Avera Behavioral Health Center is integral to ensuring a safe, clean, and welcoming environment for patients, staff, and visitors. This position is classified as a regular, full-time job with day shifts primarily from Monday to Friday, offering two different shift options: 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM or 10:00 AM to 6:30 PM. Employees can expect to work 80 hours over two weeks with schedules that may include every other weekend or holiday based on departmental needs. The compensation range for this position is competitive, set between $17.50 and $21.50 per hour, depending on experience.

Housekeeping duties at the center include comprehensive cleaning and maintenance of multiple environments such as patient rooms, nurse's stations, offices, lounges, hallways, bathrooms, kitchen areas, elevators, and lobby spaces. The housekeeper is responsible for tasks like dusting, washing, drying, mopping, vacuuming, carpet and furniture extraction, curtain replacement, furniture movement, and management of trash facilities. Another key responsibility is keeping supply areas fully stocked, including managing paper towels, toilet paper, linen, cleaning carts, and other operational materials to maintain high hygiene standards and ensure smooth daily functioning.

The successful candidate should have prior housekeeping experience, excellent communication skills, and the physical ability to perform extensive cleaning activities effectively. Visual acuity and the ability to distinguish sounds are essential to safely and successfully complete job duties. Avera Behavioral Health Center prioritizes inclusivity and offers reasonable accommodations for individuals with disabilities who can perform the essential job functions. This role demands dedication to Avera's mission, values, and standards, including compassion, hospitality, stewardship, communication, attitude, responsiveness, engagement, and confidentiality.

Joining the housekeeping team here is an opportunity to be part of a dynamic, supportive, and mission-driven healthcare organization. Employees benefit from a positive work environment where their contributions matter. Avera supports its workforce with comprehensive benefits including paid time off from day one for eligible hires, up to 5% employer matching contributions for retirement, and opportunities for career development through hands-on training and mentorship.
