Job Duties
- Meets expectations of the applicable OneCHRISTUS Competencies: leader of self, leader of others, or leader of leaders
- requests and receives cleaning equipment and supplies such as mops, buckets, electric buffers, vacuum cleaners, rags, disinfectants, and the like from the Environmental Service Supply Room, and prepares cleaning solutions
- loads hand-pushed utility cart with supplies and equipment and pushes cart to assigned work area
- dry and wet mop and vacuum large areas of floors and operate buffing equipment
- performs heavy-duty cleaning of floors and carpet
- washes, scrubs, and disinfects walls, windows, and doors
- gathers refuse from various hospital locations and transports same in hand pushed cart to compactor or shoot
- move furniture and equipment by use of hand cart or dollies
- performs related service tasks such as cleaning spills, washing windows and other glass surfaces, spraying insecticides, making patient beds, dusting surfaces, and hanging cubicle curtains and draperies
- visually inspect the area upon completion of cleaning to ensure appropriate levels of cleanliness and neatness have been achieved
- returns unused supplies to the utility room, cleans carts and equipment and ensures all items are stored in an orderly
- report any environmental/safety hazards to the supervisor for repair
- follows all OSHA guidelines while on duty and during the use of all cleaning chemicals
- daily patient room checkouts are to be cleaned using established check-out cleaning procedures
- maintains patient confidentiality
- other duties as assigned
