The Housekeeper position at The Pavilion at Williamsburg Place plays a critical role in maintaining a clean and healthy patient care environment. This full-time role primarily involves keeping assigned areas clean, safe, sanitary, and orderly, which is foundational in fostering patient safety and comfort. The Housekeeper is tasked with a variety of cleaning and custodial responsibilities that help ensure the facility meets rigorous healthcare sanitation standards. This includes performing daily cleaning tasks such as sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, dusting, polishing fixtures, and thorough cleaning of bathrooms and patient rooms. The role extends to handling laundry duties, including washing bed frames, brushing mattresses, laundering soiled linens, and remaking beds after patient discharge.
Furthermore, the Housekeeper uses specialized equipment such as buffers, scrubbers, sweepers, and carpet cleaning machines to maintain floors and carpets. This position requires attentiveness to detail and strict adherence to infection control protocols, ensuring that rooms, furniture, and equipment are disinfected using appropriate processes and germicides. The Housekeeper also manages the inventory of cleaning supplies and linen, ensuring that all materials necessary for maintaining hygiene standards are adequately stocked.
Safety is paramount in this role, with a focus on preventing slip and fall hazards during and after cleaning activities as well as following standard and universal precautions and environmental safety guidelines, including the proper handling of materials in accordance with MSDS instructions. Additionally, the Housekeeper assists in preparing rooms for meetings and facility functions, contributing to the overall environment of care and community within the facility. This position requires experience in housekeeping within a commercial, clinical, or healthcare setting, and while a high school diploma or equivalent is preferred, the facility values dedication and reliability. Job Requirements

Job Duties
- perform specific cleaning and custodial tasks in the general upkeep sanitation and cleanliness of the facility
- conduct daily cleaning of the facility including sweeping mopping vacuuming dusting polishing of fixtures general straightening and cleaning of bathrooms
- clean facility rooms baths laboratories offices and halls
- utilize buffers scrubbers sweepers and carpet cleaning equipment as necessary
- wash bed frames brush mattresses and remake beds after discharge of patients when applicable
- keep utility and storage rooms in neat and orderly conditions
- operate commercial washers and dryers
