Job Description
Kampgrounds of America, Inc. (KOA) is the world’s largest network of privately owned campgrounds and a leader in outdoor hospitality. With over 500 locations across the United States and Canada, KOA combines franchised and company-owned parks to provide a unique outdoor experience for families, adventurers, and travelers. Founded in 1962, KOA has a long-standing mission of "connecting people to the outdoors and each other," and its team members uphold values that emphasize family orientation, passion, entrepreneurship, customer focus, and innovation. KOA fosters an inclusive environment that values dignity and respect for all employees, guests, and franchise partners, promoting a strong sense of community and belonging for everyone.
At KOA, the commitment to ensuring the great outdoors is accessible and enjoyable for all drives the company culture. The organization continually educates its personnel, enhances inclusive practices, and promotes diversity of thought and experience in the workplace. KOA’s accessible facilities ensure that every guest can enjoy the outdoor atmosphere, and the company leads the outdoor hospitality industry through active change initiatives and implementations.
The Housekeeper role at KOA is integral to maintaining high-quality guest experiences by ensuring clean, sanitary, tidy, and comfortable environments across all facilities. The Housekeeper is responsible for cleaning private offices, public common areas such as the general store and restrooms, and accommodation units with thorough attention to detail and adherence to departmental standards. This position requires efficiency, organization, and a friendly disposition, as housekeepers engage indirectly with guests by creating welcoming spaces that support KOA’s outstanding reputation.
Housekeepers refresh guest rooms by replenishing supplies, amenities, linens, and collateral items to ensure comfort and convenience for visitors. They prioritize completing requests quickly and efficiently while managing tasks in line with company standards. The role requires active collaboration with guest services and property leadership to quickly and effectively resolve guest challenges, contributing to a positive customer service environment. Housekeepers also complete necessary documentation such as turning in items left by guests and reporting room statuses.
This position demands a strong adherence to quality, safety, and health regulations, including the use of protective equipment and proper sanitation practices. Housekeepers regularly handle laundry duties, sanitize kitchens and bathrooms, and maintain housekeeping carts through disciplined stocking and storage procedures. The role includes physical activity both indoors and outdoors, with tasks that involve lifting, bending, stooping, and walking on uneven terrain under varying weather conditions. Flexibility to work nights, weekends, and holidays is required, as well as a valid driver’s license, because housekeepers may operate motorized vehicles as part of their duties.
KOA is an Equal Opportunity Employer committed to fair treatment and an environment free from discrimination or harassment. The company protects employees and applicants against unfair treatment based on race, color, religion, sex (including pregnancy, gender identity, and sexual orientation), parental status, national origin, age, disability, genetic information, political affiliation, military service, or any other protected status. KOA’s inclusive philosophy ensures that all team members feel respected and supported in their responsibilities and career development. This foundational principle aligns with KOA’s broader mission to foster community and connection through exceptional outdoor hospitality experiences.
